With increasing interest in the emotional responses to music, some studies are specifically looking into music’s regulatory function on emotion, known as “music emotion regulation (MER)”. The purpose of this study was examine concepts impact music using a scoping review procedure. Through an electronic database and manual searches based guidelines suggested by JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis, total 47 were identified included analysis. results showed that there definitional challenges each component regulation. Most treated single variable without exploring mechanism intra-musical elements constitute music. When examining inclusive other terms ranging from feeling mood. MER employed used strategies; however, processes pertained solely cathartic effect. Overall, (MER) not clearly distinguished (ME) studies.
