Background: Male infertility, accounting for nearly half of infertility cases worldwide, has spurred significant research into its causes, diagnosis, and treatment strategies. Genetic abnormalities, social environmental exposures, lifestyle, further health conditions are key contributors. Methods: Essential to improving the outcomes ART is, among other things, selection high-quality sperm, which requires methods that assess sperm motility, morphology, DNA integrity, oxidative stress levels. Results: Traditional techniques such as semen analysis, swim-up, density gradient centrifugation (DGC) still widely used, but there is ongoing discussion regarding limitations in detecting damage stress. Advanced like magnetic-activated cell sorting (MACS) microfluidic have emerged more precise tools selecting with better genetic although they face challenges terms their standardization, cost, clinical adoption. Emerging technologies artificial intelligence (AI) Raman spectroscopy offer potential automated, accurate selection, minimizing human error variability. However, integration these practice validation through large-scale studies, including assessments long-term safety cost-effectiveness. Conclusions: Future should focus on refining techniques, tailoring them personalized approaches, addressing gaps evidence improve patient care.
