There is a growing recognition of the importance commensal intestinal microbiota in development and later function central nervous system. Research using germ-free mice (mice raised without any exposure to microorganisms) has provided some most persuasive evidence for role these bacteria gut-brain signalling. In this review, we discuss the usefulness of distinction between fear and anxiety. The clinical use labels is ambiguous, often defining one in terms other. We first consider what a useful, objective, scientifically valid definition would entail then evaluate several fear/anxiety distinctions that have been made neurobiological literature. Strategies for containing an emerging infectious disease outbreak must be nonpharmaceutical when drugs or vaccines the pathogen do not yet exist are unavailable.
