Wound healing is a complex biological process critical for maintaining an organism's structural integrity and tissue repair following infection or injury. Recent studies have unveiled the mechanisms involving coordination of biochemical mechanical responses in wound healing. In this article, we focus on property epithelial as material while effects such cell proliferation, intercalation, cellular migration, crawling, filopodia protrusion minimal. We present mathematical framework that predicts fate wounded based wound's geometrical features tissue's properties. Precisely, adapting vertex model mechanics, predict whether specific size monolayer characterized by certain levels actomyosin contractility cell-cell adhesion will heal (i.e., close), shrink size, rupture further. Moreover, show how tissue-mediated purse-string tension at boundary facilitate Finally, validate predictions our designing experimental setup enables us to create wounds sizes kidney cells (MDCK) monolayers. Altogether, work sets up basis interpreting interplay
