Copulation rate was decreased in food-deprived female but not male adults when tested without food the testing arena. 1) maintained by feeding glucose alone, yeast nutritive medium lacking yeast, sucralose, amino acids, or cholesterol alone; 2) inhibition of glycolysis females fed either and 3) affected fatty acid oxidation. Thus, copulation linked to glycolytic status.
