Abstract The maternal-to-zygotic transition (MZT) is a conserved developmental process where the maternally-derived protein and mRNA cache replaced with newly made zygotic gene products. We have previously shown that in Drosophila deposited RNA-binding proteins ME31B, Cup, Trailer Hitch are ubiquitylated by CTLH E3 ligase cleared. The gene-regulatory mechanisms controlling the expression of germline PIWI-interacting RNA (piRNA) pathway components within gonads metazoan species remain largely unexplored. In contrast to male piRNA pathway, which in mice is known be activated by testis-specific transcription factor A-MYB, nature ovary-specific network driving female remains a mystery. Global climate change is characterized by increased extreme temperatures affecting insects at all trophic levels. Zinc finger proteins (ZFPs) are key regulators of gene expression and cell differentiation in eukaryotes, essential for stress resistance both animals plants.
