The
silky
shark,
Carcharhinus
falciformis
,
is
a
cosmopolitan
species
commonly
caught
as
bycatch
for
longline
fisheries.
However,
the
genetic
stock
structure
Indo-Pacific
Ocean
not
well-defined
yet.
Here,
we
used
eight
microsatellite
loci
to
examine
and
effective
population
size
of
307
sharks
across
5
sampling
locations.
A
major
break
was
found
between
Aceh
remaining
locations

0.0505–0.0828,

Indian
displayed
slightly
lower

Among
the

Aim
Intraspecific

Abstract
The
Hawaiian
Archipelago
has
served
as
a
natural
laboratory
to
assess
genetic
connectivity
patterns
across
broad
spectrum
of
taxonomic
and
ecological
diversity.
Almost
all
these
studies
were
based
on
few
targeted
loci,
but
technologies
now
allow
us
population
structure
with
genomic
coverage
greater
resolution.
Here,
we
provide
SNP-based
analysis
for
an
endemic
surgeonfish,
Acanthurus
triostegus
sandvicensis
(manini)
the
adjacent
Johnston
Atoll
(
N
=
461).
Based
3649
SNPs,
manini
showed
in
main
Islands,
homogeneity
most
northwestern

archipelago

Tarakihi
(
Nemadactylus
macropterus
)
is
an
important
fishery
species
with
widespread
distribution
around
New
Zealand
and
off
the
southern
coasts
of
Australia.
However,
little
known
about
whether
populations
are
locally
adapted
or
genetically
structured.
To
address
this,
we
conducted
whole-genome
resequencing
175
tarakihi
from
Tasmania
(Australia)
to
obtain
a
dataset
7.5
million
genome-wide
high-quality
single
nucleotide
polymorphisms
(SNPs).
Variant
filtering,

-outlier
analysis,
redundancy
analysis
(RDA)
were
used
evaluate
population
structure,
adaptive
locus-environment
associations.
A
weak
but
significant
level
neutral
genetic
differentiation
was
found
between

two
separate
reproductive
stocks.

clustering
