Rapeseed oil, constituting 12% of global vegetable oil production, is susceptible to quality degradation due stress-induced incomplete seed degreening, fatty acid oxidation, or poor nutrient accumulation. We hypothesise that the hyperphosphorylated nucleotide alarmone ppGpp (guanosine tetraphosphate), acts as a pivotal regulator these processes, given its established roles in management, and ROS regulation leaves. Using qPCR, UHPLC-MS/MS, biochemical methods, our study delves into impact on nutritional value. observed positive correlation between levels desiccation, negative with photosynthetic pigment levels. Trends antioxidant activity suggest may negatively influence peroxidases, which are safeguarding against chlorophyll decomposition. Notably, despite increasing levels, sugars, proteins oils appear unaffected. This newfound role development suggests it regulates endogenous system during degreening preserving quality. Further validation through mutant-based research needed.

In this work, we present the results of inoculation canola seeds (Brassica napus L.) with Trichoderma viride strains that promote growth plants. Seven morphologically different T. (TvI-VII) were shown to be capable synthesizing auxins and exhibited cellulolytic pectinolytic activities. To gain a deeper insight into molecular mechanisms underlying canola-T. interactions, analyzed stress genes metallothioneins (BnMT1-3) stringent response (BnRSH1-3 BnCRSH). We demonstrated presence cis-regulatory elements responsive fungal elicitors in promoter regions B. MT RSH observed changes levels transcripts above-mentioned root colonization by tested strains. Of seven strains, under laboratory conditions, VII stimulated formation roots seedlings greatest extent. An experiment conducted field conditions during drought showed suspension spores increased yield 16.7%. There was also positive effect fungus on height branching plants, number siliques, mass thousand seeds. suggest strain TvVII can used modern sustainable agriculture as bioinoculant seed coating protect from drought.

Progressive climate change increases drought frequency, severely impacting crop growth and yield. New eco-friendly alternatives to chemical protection agents fertilisers are needed reduce pollution enhance plant health. This study evaluated the effects of growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) hydrogel (potassium polyacrylate) on Brassica napus L. during conditions. After in vitro pot experiments, Serratia plymuthica was selected from six PGPR candidates based its ability biomass, shoot length, number internodes. The seed viability test, reactive oxygen species accumulation, SOD activity showed no adverse applying canola seeds. Moreover, did not show toxicity towards tested bacterial strains. Field trials demonstrated that inoculation with S. significantly increased siliques (16.48%) yield (19.93%), compared controls. Plants grown inoculated seeds were also taller (3.28%) had more branches (39.99%). We analysed seedling emergence, internodes, thousand seeds’ weight, moisture. applied soil delayed emergence dampened effect plymuthica, resulting reduced Compared plants there a decrease treated solely bacterium 23.61% 27.79%, respectively. Our results indicate has high potential for use commercial farming, especially as an ingredient added coatings.

Novel carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) films with liquid products of pyrolysis (LPP) from wood pine were produced. The obtained CMC-LPP plasticized 5% glycerol. a light brown colour characteristic smoky scent, and showed higher oxygen permeability when compared to control film without the addition LPP. exhibited high antioxidant activity (5 18 times than CMC films). Furthermore, antibacterial was tested, showing strong inhibiting growth effect on seven tested human pathogenic bacteria. new material had most substantial bacteriostatic Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella typhimurium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Introduction LPP plasticised produces an eco-friendly biocidal favourable mechanical structural properties, which shows its potential for possible use in many industries.

The development of sustainable seed coating formulations is essential to enhance crop performance while reducing reliance on synthetic inputs. This study evaluates biochar-enriched coatings incorporating olive pomace, buffalo digestate, and microbial consortia from Fagus, Quercus, Pinus forest litters, including Trichoderma harzianum, for their effects germination plant growth. Four crops (Diplotaxis tenuifolia, Lactuca sativa, Solanum lycopersicum, Zea mays) were tested through assays field trials. Treatments containing digestate or pomace alone significantly reduced seedling growth in D. tenuifolia L. sativa (below 25%, compared control), due the phytotoxic ammonia, salts, polyphenols. In contrast, biochar-based mitigated these effects, enhancing root elongation. addition T. harzianum further improved establishment, likely by nutrient uptake suppressing soilborne pathogens, with increases exceeding 100% (compared control). Field trials confirmed findings, showing that biochar–T. combinations both shoot biomass, particularly S. lycopersicum. Z. mays displayed greater tolerance raw by-products, though biochar remained optimal While forest-derived supported balance, effect biomass was less pronounced. These results highlight potential coatings, especially when combined as alternatives conventional treatments.

Seed coating technology combined with biopolymers offers an alternative method to reduce environmental contamination. However, when biological agents are incorporated, would have diverse properties and effects. This underscores the necessity of exploring optimal dosages formulations ensure survival beneficial microorganisms, seed quality, proper storage. study aimed explore effects different sodium alginate chitosan on Trichoderma harzianum viability canola seeds quality. The process involved mixing T. powder alginate, talc in doses, sequences formulations. was assessed through colony-forming units per ml over time. Canola quality evaluated by measuring radicle emergence, germination percentage, seedling growth, field emergence. Sodium both alone combination talc, improved immediately after treatment during These coatings did not impair root growth. Among formulations, a 1 : 100 ratio strain growth without affecting germination, radicle, Coating is practical application harzianum, as it preserves their time improves performance.
