Ants are a highly adaptable group of insects that have globally established themselves in diverse climates and habitats. This study investigates the influence climate habitat on morphological traits Camponotus japonicus across 22 sites mainland China. These span three zones (mid-temperate, warm temperate, subtropical) types (urban parks, farmlands, sparse woodlands). Principal component analysis (PCA) was used to determine principal axis variation, while hypervolume centroid distance calculation were verify environmental filtering hypothesis optimal transfer hypothesis. The results support both hypotheses showing significantly affect space C. workers. In particular, is more constrained mid-temperate workers woodlands exhibit greater variation. contrast, urban parks characterized by higher stability reduced differences. Additionally, robust regression reveals factors such as temperature, precipitation, humidity, altitude closely linked Understanding how ant morphology responds external changes enhances our understanding their adaptability essential ecological roles various ecosystems.
