Background Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder that can lead to various complications, including erectile dysfunction (ED). Therefore, this study aimed investigate the relationship between ED and psychological factors (anxiety, stress, depression) in Erbil City, Iraq. Methodology Using purposive sampling method, cross-sectional was conducted from June 15th November 27th, 2023, at Layla Qasim Center City. The questionnaire included demographic information, Depression, Anxiety Stress Scale - 21 Items for assessing depression, anxiety, International Index of Erectile Dysfunction Questionnaire. Statistical analysis performed using Stata version 12 (StataCorp LLC, College Station, TX, USA). Significance levels were considered p-values <0.05. Results A total 403 participants study. mean score depression 9.95 ± 4.99, indicating moderate depression. more severe, with 9.25 4.25, while stress 11.63 3.91. scores indicated mild-to-moderate ED, 13.46 4.30. There significant negative correlation (r = -0.11, p < 0.001), anxiety -0.16, -0.13, 0.001). Conclusions demonstrated among diabetic patients. Background and aim Sleep disturbances during pregnancy are a common occurrence can significantly impact both maternal fetal health. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the severity of sleep among pregnant women attending Erbil Maternity Teaching Hospital in Erbil, Iraq. Method This cross-sectional was conducted from July 15, 2023, August 2024, at using convenience sampling. Data were gathered self-structured questionnaire that included demographic information 20-item disturbance assessment. Statistical analysis performed Stata version 12 (StataCorp LLC, College Station, TX), parametric tests such as t-test, ANOVA, multiple linear regression used examine relationships between variables. A p-value less than 0.001 considered statistically significant. Results total 300 participants enrolled study. The mean score 47.58 ± 9.83, indicating most experienced mild disturbances. did not differ by age, education level, occupation, or residency. However, economic status associated with levels, lower-income experiencing more severe (p = 0.02). Conclusions found disturbances, lower being significant predictor issues. Healthcare providers policymakers recommended develop targeted interventions address unique needs women, particularly those groups, improve quality overall health outcomes.

Background The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced unprecedented challenges to global healthcare systems, including heightened psychological stress among patients. This study evaluates the preoperative anxiety levels patients scheduled for surgery during pandemic. Methods cross-sectional observational was conducted between April 2020 and March 2022. Adult aged 18-80 years, elective or emergency surgery, were included. Exclusion criteria mental illness, impaired communication, hemodynamic instability. A pre-validated questionnaire addressing demographics, prior exposure, surgery-related anxiety, COVID-19-related fears administered. Anxiety scored on a 1-5 Likert scale. Data analyzed using SPSS version 22 (IBM Corp., Armonk, USA). Results total of 112 participated, with mean age 42.3±14.2 years. majority female (61 patients, 54.5%), married (96 85.7%), resided in urban areas (85 75.9%). Most had no surgical history (87 77.7%). Surgery-related prevalent, 110 (98.2%) fearing complications 111 (99.1%) postoperative pain. also significant, 108 (96.4%) infection hospital stay 100 (89.3%) infecting family members. Mild fear most common level (70 62.95%), followed by moderate (25 22.5%). Discussion highlights dual stressors pandemic, contributing anxiety. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus, led to a worldwide pandemic. There were unprecedented changes in mental health of children, adolescents, and youth age group 8-18 years as result COVID-19. The objective this review is identify direct indirect factors that influenced these changes. We identified three main groups could have impacted young people during pandemic: (i) familial factors, (ii) social educational (iii) positive variables. Our suggests COVID-19 pandemic negatively children adolescents through stressors like isolation, parental unemployment loss, disrupted routines. As result, sadness, hopelessness, depression, generalized anxiety all increased significantly among pandemic, coupled with simultaneous increase substance use, suicide attempts, violence.
