In
spite
of
visible
efforts,
gender
disparity
still
persists
in
development
projects
worldwide,
with
negative
impacts
on
women’s
participation,
project
outcomes,
and
sustainability.
The
growing
literature
determinants
is
driven
mainly
by
an
individual
agenda
that
does
not
generate
knowledge
relevance
for
broad-based
policy
making
at
regional,
national
or
international
levels.
This
study
explores
among
beneficiaries
Mezam
division
the
North
West
region
Cameroon.
Primary
data
was
collected
from
450
six
randomly
selected
division,
using
a
structured
questionnaire.
Descriptive
statistics
used
to
analyse
socio-demographic
characteristics
sample,
weighted
linear
regression
model
identify
disparity.
55%
(250
individuals)
were
male,
while
45%
(200
female.
Statistically
significant
observed
between
respondents
across
various
socio-economic
variables,
particularly,
age,
access
land,
income,
employment
status,
household
wealth,
credit,
technology,
healthcare.

Abstract
Business‐like
thinking
among
NPOs
and
scholars
has
stimulated
growing
but
contested
views
on
what
constitutes
commercialization
drives
its
adoption.
Unfortunately,
empirical
efforts
have
largely
neglected
the
perspective
of
nonprofit
managers
who
play
pivotal
roles
in
decisions.
To
stem
this
knowledge
gap,
study
applies
a
mixed
methods
case
from
Cameroon
to
elicit
top
managers'
perceptions
commercialization.
Almost
90%
all
demonstrate
sound
theoretical
Overall,
65%
perceived
positively,
40%
were
already
engaged
commercial
activities.
Binary
logistic
regression
results
indicated
positive
statistically
significant
relationships
between
organizational
capacity
variables
(intervention
sector,
for‐profit
management
strategy,
assets),
(
p
<
0.05),
questioning
resource‐dependency
theory.
The
implications
conceptual
ordering,
diversity
contextualizing
research
are
discussed,
particularly
need
include
managerial
perception
as
key
variable
equation
developing
countries,
reconciling
contestations
with
contextual
reality.
