Orientation: Business sustainability in today’s world is primarily arduous owing to global economic and financial crises. In the first quarter of 2019, according Statistics South Africa, Gross Domestic Product deteriorated by 3.2%. Similarly, KwaZulu-Natal, state small medium enterprises (SMEs) was on decline majority (75%) SMEs failed after operating for 3 years.Research purpose: To formulate a business strategy assist achieve sustainability.Motivation study: Small KwaZulu-Natal do not sustain themselves long-term periods, underlying problem being poor formulation hence, need sustainability.Research design, approach method: A mixed methodology used this empirical study. target population 488 000 SME’s were considered with sample size 384 expected respondents. total 200 responses ( 52% size) obtained from questionnaire within capped period 30 days. The Social Package Sciences software quantitative aspect. particular cross tabulations, central tendencies, group difference techniques analyse data. addition, grounded theory employed 20 individuals who interviewed investigate opinions towards development KZN NVivo qualitative aspect.Main findings: core element ‘Strategy’ sub-elements ‘Change’, ‘Purpose’ ‘Leadership’ investigated. It found that main contributors achieving sustainability. This study investigated dimensions of SME's constraints and decisions to Invest in the Ghanaian Oil Gas Sector.Using a binominal regression model we analyzed primary data from 497 local SMEs.The found that SMEs with inadequate capital, had high level competition, corruption perception, lacked policy awareness, adequate external credit facilities, information, managerial capabilities, technological capabilities were less likely invest oil gas sector.Per contra, human resources entrepreneur characteristics exerted no significant influence on sector.This has implications policies, investment future research.Particularly government is required expedite enforced Local Participation Petroleum Activities Policy under Regulations.This could be replicated within other emerging economies using different models.

Orientation: In the contemporary business environment, employee mental health is neglected, especially in research and practice African Small Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). This occurs even though this sector largest contributor to developed economies. study highlights importance of psychological well-being SME performance individual employee.Research purpose: To investigate influence perceived organisational support, career goal development empowering leadership on employees Gauteng province, South Africa.Motivation for study: Despite increasing SMEs, few studies have investigated impact development, a Southern context.Research approach/design method: followed quantitative approach, using survey methodology where structured questionnaire was administered 250 employees. evaluate psychometric properties measurement scales, confirmatory factor analysis performed. Structural equation modelling used test hypotheses.Main findings: Perceived positive significant workers. A robust, relationship exists between well-being.Practical/managerial implications: The results indicate that managers Africa should pay more attention to, or place greater emphasis on, supporting their organisations, recognising assisting them achieving goals, be happy at work. If prioritised, will ultimately improve.Contribution/value-add: contributes current body Africa’s industrial psychology literature – field has received little developing countries like Africa.
