Developing communication through objects: Ostensive gestures as the first gestures in children's development

The
first
gestures
that
children
produce
intentionally
to
communicate
with
others,
make
sense
of
the
world
around
them,
and
control
their
behavior
are
ostensive
showing
giving;
these
also
parents
teachers
use
regulate
in
months
life.
Ostensive
proximal
which
child's
hand
is
occupied
by
an
object.
In
this
sense,
objects
have
a
role
shaping
children's
communicative
acts:
They
referents
about
means
they
share
references
others.
Despite
relevance
development,
literature
review
highlights
there
been
few
studies
investigating
three
years
life,
while
study
distal
gestures,
especially
pointing
has
prevailed.
Some
authors
relate
relative
absence
methodological
issues
hinder
identification.
Others
question
nature
as
"true
gestures"
because
involve
contact
therefore
can
be
doubt
underlying
intentionality.
Increasing
evidence
shown
fulfill
early
self-regulatory
functions
from
end
year
These
very
similar
ones
later
observed
more
complex
such
symbolic
gestures.
This
similarity
provides
clear
idea
progression
gesture
development.
Based
on
ideas,
article
two
main
purposes:
describe
reaffirm
important
part
explore
hypothesis
not
only
precede
but
one
pointing's
precursors,
providing
clues
understanding
intentional
communication's
origin.

We
consider
