Flexible electroluminescent (EL) devices have become an important part of lighting and display. However, fabricating a flexible EL device with biodegradability, recyclability, extreme environment tolerance through facile green method still remains challenging to date. Herein, all-nanocellulose-based recyclable phosphors is developed by using sandwich-structured assembly strategy. Biomass-derived cellulose nanocrystals II crystalline allomorphs (CNCs II) high transmittance are utilized as film-forming agent, dispersant, antioxidant for transparent electrodes. nanofibers aspect ratio introduced into the luminescent layer improve mechanical stability devices. The CNC II-silver nanowire electrodes (81.7%) low sheet resistance (4.4 Ω sq–1) demonstrate conductive stability, damage resistance, inoxidizability. assembled luminance (135.7 cd m–2 at 400 V 20 kHz), tensile strength (16.6 MPa), cyclic can work properly over wide temperature range (−20 60 °C). With action cellulase, entire be completely biodegraded within 7 h. prepared recycled basically maintains original properties. patternable manufactured environmentally friendly approach offer favorable option future electronics including wearable display screens.

Global population growth and industrialization have exacerbated the nonrenewable energy crises environmental issues, thereby stimulating an enormous demand for producing environmentally friendly materials.
