Practical ppb‐Level Room Temperature Chemiresistive Nitric Oxide Sensing Assembly Based on Ultrathin Thick Porphyrin MOF Nanosheets

Nitric
oxide
is
an
endogenous
biological
signaling
molecule,
and
the
corresponding
fractional
exhaled
NO
serves
as
important
indicator
in
clinical
diagnostics
therapeutic
applications.
However,
achieving
accurate
rapid
monitoring
of
ppb-level
nitric
(FeNO)
at
room
temperature
remains
a
significant
challenge.
Herein,
ultrathin
porphyrin
metal-organic
framework
(MOF)
sheets
are
selected
to
assemble
with
supramolecularly
functionalized
graphene
through
hydrogen
bonding
electrostatic
interaction
6
nm
thickness.
The
resulting
MOF/graphene
sheet-on-sheet
nanohybrid
designed
chemiresistive
sensor
which
exhibits
superior
gas
sensing
performance
including
ultralow
practical
limit
detection
(Ra/Rg
=
1.047,
5
ppb
NO),
reliable
repeatability,
excellent
selectivity
against
other
gases,
relative
long-term
stability.
Mechanism
study
indicates
that
prominent
attributed
ordered
active
sites
ferric-pyrrole
(Fe─N4)
less
than
10
thick
heterojunction
structure
nanohybrid.
potential
utility
obtained
sensors
validated
by
exhalation
tests
toward
samples
from
healthy
individuals
asthma
patients,
respectively.
This
work
provides
effective
strategy
developing
MOF-based
for
FeNO
monitoring.

Abstract
Metal
oxide
semiconductor
(MOS)

Pd
materials
are
potential
candidates
for
H
2
sensors,
while
effective
detection
at
near
room
temperature
remains
a
great
challenge
owing
to
the
difficulty
of
hydrogen
migration
from
low
temperature.
Herein,
guided
by
theoretical
calculations,
rare
earth
single
atoms
doping
nanoparticles
on
WO
3
nanorods
with
tunable
work
function
differences
(ΔФ)
and
oxygen
vacancies
precisely
developed
improve
sensing
performances.
The
resultant
Ce‐Pd/WO
presents
highest
response
31.3
toward
50
ppm
,
showing
6
times
improvement
over
Pd/WO
which
realizes
trace
fast
.
Density
functional
theory
results
reveal
that
energy
barrier
formation
vacancy
decrease
after
introducing
atoms,
lowest
ΔФ
exhibits
most
facile
spillover
desorption.
in
situ
spectra
characterization
experiments
further
demonstrate
highly
improved
Significantly,
real‐time
monitoring
application
device
leak
(0.1
V/V%)
Al‐air
batteries
is
also
verified.
This
can
shed
light

An Atomically Dispersed Pd Sub‐Metallene: Intermediate State of Single Atoms and Metal Bonds

Abstract
Despite
the
metal
coordination
and
single‐atom
catalyst
(SAC)
have
been
extensively
investigated
in
surface
science
over
past
decade,
their
overall
activity
involving
multi‐step
reactions
remains
unsatisfactory
owing
to
bond
single
atom
being
irreconcilable.
Here,
a
stable
atomically
dispersed
Pd
sub‐metallene
(Pd
ADSM)
layer
supported
on
2D
MXene
(Mo
2
TiC
)
is
reported,
which
combines
advantages
of
structures,
atoms,
bonds.
ADSM
shows
covalent
structures
along
z‐coordination
highly
coordinated
bonds
direction.
During
alkaline
hydrogen
evolution
reaction
(HER),
7‐
112‐times
higher
mass
than
SAC
SAC)
commercial
Pt/C
at
overpotential
−108
mV,
respectively.
Operando
characterizations
theoretical
calculations
reveal
that
Pd─Pd
interface
not
only
makes
adsorbed
water
form
flexible
hydrogen‐bonded
skeleton
closer
catalytic
center
but
also
reduces
energy
barrier
for
HER
rate‐determining
step.
Moreover,
moderate
adsorption
can
rapidly
activate,
dissociate,
desorb
molecules
room
temperature,
resulting
record‐high
sensing
performances
(Response
time,
Recovery
Sensitivity
100
ppm
H
are
4.8,
1.6
s,
43.5%,
respectively).
