Abstract
Lack
of
liver
regenerative
capacity
is
the
primary
cause
hepatic
failure
and
even
mortality
in
patients
undergoing
hepatectomy,
with
no
effective
intervention
strategies
currently
available.
Therefore,
identifying
efficacious
interventions
to
enhance
regeneration
pivotal
for
optimizing
clinical
outcomes.
Recent
studies
have
demonstrated
that
vagotomy
exerts
an
inhibitory
effect
on
following
partial
thereby
substantiating
role
played
by
vagus
nerve
process
regeneration.
In
recent
years,
electroacupuncture
(EA)
has
emerged
as
a
non‐invasive
technique
stimulating
nerve.
However,
EA
remains
uncertain.
this
study,

hepatectomy

effects

Hepatocellular

IL‐12p70 Induces Neuroprotection via the PI3K‐AKT‐BCL2 Axis to Mediate the Therapeutic Effect of Electroacupuncture on Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction

Abstract
Postoperative
cognitive
dysfunction
(POCD),
a
postsurgical
decline
in
function,
primarily
affects
older
adults
and
worsens
their
prognosis.
Although
elevated
interleukin‐12p70
(IL‐12p70)
is
closely
correlated
with
slower
adults,
its
role
POCD
remains
unclear.
Here,
IL‐12p70
identified
as
significant
mediator
of
therapeutic
effect
electroacupuncture
(EA)
on
POCD.
EA
at
acupoints
ST36,
GV20,
GV24
significantly
enhanced
behaviors
mice.
IL‐12p70,
downregulated
mice
but
rescued
by
treatment,
the
cytokine
associated
EA's
effect.
Clinically,
adults’
serum
post‐surgery.
Furthermore,
exerts
potent
neuroprotective
both
neuronal
cell
lines
primary
hippocampal
neurons.
The
PI3K‐AKT‐BCL2
axis
enriched
silico
analysis
validated
signaling
mechanism
underlying
IL‐12p70‐induced
neuroprotection.
In
vivo,
beneficial
effects
treatment
activation
are
reproduced
administration
attenuated
knockdown.
