A traceless bidentate directing group guided copper catalyzed direct cage B(4,5)-H disulfenylation of o-carboranes has been achieved, leading to a series B(4,5)-disulfenylated o-carborane derivatives in high yields with excellent regioselectivity. The situ departure the 8-aminoquinoline auxiliary circumvents additional processes for removal, thus enhancing atom-/step-economy.

A palladium catalyzed selective B(3)-H activation/oxidative dehydrogenative coupling for the synthesis of bis(o-carborane)s connected with B(3)-B(3') and B(3)-B(6') bonds has been developed first time. plausible mechanism involving stepwise activation B(3'/6')-H by PdII PdIV was proposed. This work is example most efficient protocol bonds, which important reference design, synthesis, application in related fields.

A Pd-catalyzed three-component carbonylative-annulation of 1-hydroxy-o-carborane, internal alkyne and carbon monoxide has been achieved via direct regioselective cage B-H activation. class C,B-substituted carborano-coumarin derivatives with potential applications in pharmaceuticals were facilely prepared moderate to high yields excellent chemoselectivity regioselectivity. plausible reaction mechanism including CO insertion, electrophilic metalation, insertion reductive elimination was proposed.

Abstract Carboranes are a type of molecular clusters consisting carbon, hydrogen, and boron atoms. They possess unique characteristics, such as three-dimensional aromaticity, icosahedral geometry, robustness. Functionalized carboranes have been utilized in various fields, including medicine, materials, organometallic/coordination chemistry. In this context, selective functionalization o-carboranes has received tremendous attention, specifically the regio- enantioselective modification ten chemically similar BH vertices within carborane cage. recent years, significant progress made catalytic vertex-specific functionalization, well achieving cage BH.
