Drawing from Lazarus Folkman’s coping theory, emphasized influential role of in appraising stressful events. A cross-sectional survey was conducted online among 426 Filipino adults during peak COVID-19 pandemic. Participants completed measures including Multidimensional Scale Perceived Support (MSPSS), Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10), Positive Affect subscale PANAS, Depression Anxiety subscales DASS-21. The hypotheses were tested using mediation analysis. Consistent hypotheses, significantly mediated family significant other Family decreased stress, increasing decreasing anxiety On hand, did not friend Implications future research directions are discussed.

Abstract Coronavirus disease‐19 (COVID‐19) has led to the demise of millions people worldwide; additionally, it resulted in a significant economic and mental health burden. Since onset COVID‐19 pandemic, various measures have been constructed evaluate pandemic‐related fear anxiety. The Anxiety Syndrome Scale (C‐19ASS) is promising measure that assesses coping strategies (e.g., avoidance, checking, worrying threat monitoring), termed ‘COVID‐19 Syndrome’, response broadly welcomed, leading its use Brazil (Portuguese), China, Greece, Indonesia, Philippines, Iran (Farsi), Italy, Saudi Arabia (Arabic), Turkey, United Kingdom States. To gain better understanding relevance Syndrome, we conducted systematic review meta‐analysis explore psychological correlates psychometric properties C‐19ASS. Through analysis total 17,789 individuals (age range 19–70; female = 33%–85%), C‐19ASS demonstrated consistent factor structure, measurement invariance across gender acceptable reliabilities. Furthermore, association with anxiety, depressive symptoms, generalized distress functional impairment (work social adjustment) during pandemic was observed. When considering Big Five personality traits, subscales were only significantly negatively associated extraversion; score on neuroticism. observed effect sizes ranged from very small medium. Given all included studies ( K 24) cross‐sectional, due nature which may well persist after ends, recommended continue screening society for persistence this syndrome.

In a quasi-naturalistic study design, we evaluate the change in psychopathological syndromes and general well-being after alleviation of social restrictions. The aim this was to investigate specific relationship between isolation depressive syndromes. At two timepoints, first during maximal restrictions, second restrictions had widely ended for 9 months, other were measured an online survey addressing total cohort students registered at Heidelberg University, Germany via e-mail (n = 27,162). complete Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ) used with nine items syndromes. addition, by Well-Being Index WHO-5. quantitative qualitative part related feelings loneliness. After 1.5 years pandemic-related "major" reported 40.16% respondents PHQ sample 2,318 university students. 72.52% showed severely reduced Well-Being-Index. Nine months end 28.50% participants. Well-being improved as well: 53.96% below 50 vs. study. analysis free texts suggest that significant amount are loneliness. While times pandemic participants mostly "loneliness isolation" (24.2%) their main problem, only 7.7% described these problem been loosened months. hints t2 more likely mention possible ways actively deal loneliness than t1, which might be interpreted along lines decrease syndromes.Keeping self-selection bias mind our results one third quarter accompany or even caused them, being important factor. These should taken into account health policies when coping future pandemics.

The present research assessed the psychometric properties of Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) through an examination its internal structure, invariance analysis, and standardization. Social distribution analyses measure were conducted using linear binomial logistic regression. sample consisted 10,069 adults from all 27 states in Brazil. data obtained four collections across different years COVID-19 pandemic (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023), independent samples. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) indicated that is unidimensional with satisfactory fit indices. model was invariant relation to variables investigated at levels (configural, metric, scalar, strict). standardization supported hypothetical cut scores indicating severity depressive symptoms, categorized as very low (0 6), (7 13), moderate (14 19), high (20 23), (≥ 24). We found sex/gender, skin color/ethnicity, age, education level, year predictors symptoms adjusted regression analysis. showed higher chances for a positive screening diagnosis depression, Odds Ratio follows: 2021 (OR adj = 1.275) 2023 1.409), women 1.900), Pardos individuals 1.252), up school 1.272), being northeast region resident 2.127), younger people 1.716). findings this study indicate suitability PHQ-9 assessing depression population recommend use monitoring coming Clinical implications include developing interventions address psychological impact any future health crises.

This study aimed to present the methods for screening, monitoring, and intervening with patients at high risk mental health issues COVID-19 residential treatment centers, which are isolation facilities patients. We evaluated status of in three centers. At admission one day before discharge, received via their mobile a questionnaire containing question each on anxiety, subjective psychological distress, post-traumatic stress symptoms, depression suicidal ideation identify those issues. High-risk normal-risk participants who requested consultation were referred counseling. participants' clinical characteristics performed logistic regression analysis factors associated worsened suicide discharge. We aimed to (1) describe the course of emotional burden (i.e., depression, anxiety, and stress) in a general population sample during coronavirus pandemic 2020 2021 (2) explore association between serologically proven infection with SARS-CoV-2.This longitudinal study involved community-dwelling persons aged ≥14 years from South Tyrol (Province Bolzano-Bozen, Northern Italy). Data were collected at two stages over 1-year period 2021.Persons invited participate survey on socio-demographic, health-related psychosocial variables (e.g., age, chronic diseases, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, DASS-21), as well serological testing for SARS-CoV-2-specific immunoglobulins. In 2020, 855 (23.8%) out 3,600 participated; 2021, 305 (35.7%) tested again. observed statistically significant decrease mean DASS-21 scores stress, total yet not anxiety. Persons confirmed SARS-CoV-2-infection first second data collection exhibited increased compared those without SARS-CoV-2-infection. The odds participants self-reported diagnosis mental disorder future SARS-CoV-2 was almost four times higher than that disorders (OR:3.75; 95%CI:1.79-7.83).Our findings support hypothesis psycho-neuroendocrine-immune interplay COVID-19. Further research is necessary mechanisms underlying health infections.
