Reactive attachment disorder (RAD) and disinhibited social engagement (DSED) manifest in individuals facing system chal-lenges, particularly observed minors under protective measures. The lack of standardized tools for assessing these difficulties uncertainty about the most effective instruments from a psychometric perspective prompted this study. Using COSMIN checklist, we systematically reviewed RAD, adhering to PRISMA guidelines. Examined included Disturbance Attachment Inter-view, Preschool Age Psychiatric Assessment, Relationship Patterns Questionnaire, Assessment RAD DSED, Development Well-Being Disorder Question-naire. Of 11 articles analyzed, results highlight research emphasis on internal consistency, structural construct validity, sidelining other properties. Although early experiences with primary caregivers have been recognised to play a significant role in individuals’ attachment relationships, little is known about adoptees’ trajectories once placed within their respective adoptive families. This study aims address this by investigating how representations might be explained predictors including childhood and other pertinent pre-placement variables. In childhood, the Story Stem Assessment Profile (SSAP) used capture these representations, whilst adolescence, an attachment-orientated interview (Friends Family Interview; FFI) employed. The sample here consisted of 35 adoptees, before 12 months age, maltreated, late-adoptees, between four nine years old. Regression models were statistically for three out FFI constructs ( Security, Disorganisation, Coherence), though most effects driven IQ. When exploring late adoptees alone, all regression explaining variance adolescent attachment, SSAP Defensive Avoidance Abuse as strongest predictors. examining only two significant, from These findings add current knowledge on variables predicting suggest potential areas improve outcomes.
