ABSTRACT This study examines Nigeria's ecological footprint, addressing a significant gap in comprehensive research on how poverty, public‐private partnerships (PPPs), GDP (economic growth), and renewable energy use impact environment. Using data from 1990 to 2023, the analysis explores relationship between these economic indicators footprint. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model, with FMOLS, DOLS, CCR robustness tests, were employed ensure reliability. Key findings ARDL approach indicate that: (i) Poverty increase footprint; (ii) PPPs eventually lessen (iii) reduces short‐term imprint. long‐term results are line those as well reinforcing need for coordinated policymaking address environmental degradation. emphasizes importance of leveraging promote sustainable effective waste disposal practices. It underscores grassroots conscientization media campaigns enhance overall quality.

Purpose This paper investigates the relationship between business sustainability and capital structure, specifically focusing on moderating role of family firms. Design/methodology/approach Using a sample Portuguese-listed firms Euronext Lisbon from 2010 to 2022, generalized method moments (GMM) estimation was applied account for endogeneity in panel data analysis. Findings The results show that tend have higher debt levels than their counterparts. While ESG performance positively influences financial leverage, there is no evidence this effect stronger A nonlinear structure found, suggesting moderate engagement enhances accessibility, whereas excessive may constrain financing options. Individually, three pillars do not significantly affect levels. However, specific components moderately influence ESG-leverage relationship, particularly firms, where alignment with long-term values strengthens creditor confidence. Originality/value study addresses gap understanding how ownership moderates ESG-capital civil law economies, rely more exhibit distinct governance risk preferences. findings contribute literature by revealing clarifying firm interplay practices decisions. This study investigates the impact of China’s carbon emission trading (CET) framework on green development construction sector, a topic that has been underexplored. Utilizing annual data from 107 publicly listed companies 2007 to 2022, we apply total factor productivity (GTFP) as metric for development. Our findings reveal GTFP increased by 0.36 during this period. Using Difference-in-Differences (DID) methodology, account factors such market dimensions, ownership structure, financial stability, geographical location, and state aid. The interaction term coefficient in our model is 0.0089, significant at 1% level, indicating CET implementation significantly improved enterprises. Heterogeneity analysis further shows CET’s more pronounced large-scale, state-owned, highly indebted enterprises, those located eastern region, receiving government subsidies, with coefficients 0.112, 0.0108, 0.0092, 0.0133, 0.0099, respectively, all level. These results underscore importance unified tailored governance strategies. concludes policy recommendations calls research explore nuanced impacts across different sectors regions.

Abstract This study explores the relationship between Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and environmental performance improvement within Saudi chemical industry. Against backdrop of global sustainability imperatives Arabia’s Vision 2030, which promotes for economic diversification, this research aims to assess effectiveness KPIs in driving practices. The motivation stems from identified gaps systematic implementation utilisation lack awareness regarding certain aspects impact management industry Kingdom. methodology involved a structured survey administered diverse range manufacturing companies, followed by rigorous data analysis using descriptive evaluation, Analysis Variance (ANOVA), reliability analysis, t -tests. results revealed insights into pollution areas, KPI utilisation, methods assessment, alignment with strategic goals, governance regulations. Descriptive highlighted air quality as priority, notable attention water land pollution, while quantitative confirmed significance area.
