Abstract Background Early intervention gives young people the best chance to recover from eating disorders (EDs). An important focus of early is shortening time between a person first developing symptoms and starting treatment (duration untreated disorder; DUED). Patient-related factors (e.g. poor mental health literacy help-seeking difficulties) are strongly associated with DUED. Abstract Background: Timely intervention is beneficial to the effectiveness of eating disorder (ED) treatment, but limited capacity within ED services means that these disorders are often not treated with sufficient speed. This service evaluation extends previous research into guided self-help (GSH) for adults bulimic spectrum EDs by assessing feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary virtually delivered GSH using videoconferencing. Method: Patients bulimia nervosa (BN), binge (BED) other specified feeding (OSFED) waiting treatment in a large specialist adult out-patient were offered GSH. The programme used an evidence-based cognitive behavioural book. Individuals supported non-expert coaches, who eight-session via Results: One hundred thirty patients allocated coach between 1 September 2020 30 2022; 106 (82%) started 78 (60%) completed treatment. Conclusions: Virtually feasible, acceptable effective reducing symptoms amongst those disorders. Introduction The Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences have negatively impacted the incidence of EDs, determining a substantial burden on patients, caregivers healthcare systems world-wide. This literature review aims to investigate short- long-term effects care provider systems, exploring possibility “rethinking” ED programs. Methods Records were systematically (following PRISMA guidelines) identified through PubMed, Google Scholar Scopus searching. Results led an abrupt increase in pediatric adolescent visits hospital admissions. Despite decline second-year post-onset, absolute visit volumes remained elevated relative pre-pandemic levels. Barriers access specialist emerged, including socio-economic status lack public outpatient services. Consequently, this situation has prompted providers explore innovative bridge plans multidisciplinary telehealth solutions face such challenges. Discussion Challenges insurance shifts, treatment disruptions discharge planning underscore need for comprehensive strategies care. Overall, our findings highlight importance adopting approaches, implementing location-specific plans, integrating effectively address evolving challenges posed by enhance efficiency
