Intergenerational inheritance of quercetin-induced abnormal immunity in mice

Quercetin,
a
dietary
flavonol
enriched
in
food,
regulates
immune-related
models
through
epigenetic
modifications.
However,
few
studies
have
explored
the
transmission
of
regulatory
effects
across
generations
to
progeny.
Here,
we
selected
Escherichia
coli,
conditional
pathogen
capable
causing
gastrointestinal
infections
or
various
localized
tissue
and
organ
under
specific
conditions,
as
pathogenic
strain
infect
mice.
We
provide
evidence
that
quercetin
can
not
only
induce
responsiveness
changes
against
systemic
E.
coli
infection
directly
exposed
organisms,
but
also
subsequent
transgenerational
inheritance
traits.
Both
parental
male
mice
their
progeny
exhibited
cellular
phenotypic
associated
with
metabolic
alterations.
Surprisingly,
female
treated
(200
mg/kg)
for
six
weeks
negatively
enhanced
survival
rate
(1

CFU/mL)
infection,

Abstract
Nutrients
derived
from
food
sources,
such
as
astaxanthin,
polyphenols,
dietary
fiber,
probiotics,
and
short‐chain
fatty
acids,
play
a
crucial
role
in
alleviating
intestinal
inflammation
caused
by
sub‐health
conditions.
These
states
are
closely
associated
with
range
of
diseases,
including
colitis,
gastric
ulcers,
colorectal
cancer.
Currently,
there
is
lack
comprehensive
guidelines
that
summarize
quantitative
dynamic
analysis
methods
for
assessing
the
impact
nutrients
on
gastrointestinal
inflammation,
which
limits
accurate
comparison
their
mechanisms
action.
Therefore,
we
summarized
evaluating
vivo
anti‐inflammatory
properties
food‐derived
nutrients.
encompass
selection
experimental
models,
assessment
tools,
long‐term
evaluation
parameters,
exploration
inflammation‐related
disease
activity
index,
murine
endoscopic
index
colitis
severity
(MEICS),
spleen
changes
colon
length,
histology
inflammatory

By

these
methods,
researchers
can
conduct
in‐depth
studies

comparative
analyses
alleviate
inflammation.

will

more
