Oxidative stress (OS) refers to the production of a substantial amount reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading cellular and organ damage. This imbalance between oxidant antioxidant activity contributes various diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurodegenerative conditions. The body’s system, mediated by signaling pathways, includes AMPK-SIRT1-FOXO pathway. In oxidative conditions, AMPK, an energy sensor, activates SIRT1, which in turn stimulates FOXO transcription factor. cascade enhances mitochondrial function, reduces damage, mitigates OS-induced injury. review provides comprehensive analysis biological roles, regulatory mechanisms, functions pathway diseases influenced OS, offering new insights methods for understanding OS pathogenesis its therapeutic approaches.

Abstract Two pretreatments (ultrasound sonication [US] and microwave [MW]) drying techniques (hot air [HA] freeze‐drying [FD]) were used to assess the in vitro bioaccessibility of phenols, carotenoids, antioxidant activity three tomato cultivars (Zzx171, Zzx162, Zzx65). The metabolome‐chemometric analysis showed that dried by FD HA differed metabolites. samples contained methoxytyrosine aconitane‐type diterpenoids. US‐HA enhanced total phenol content 64.72%–74.25% after digestion (intestinal phase). increased protocatechuic acid levels all intestinal phase, but 55.23% Zzx65 compared undigested samples. Despite adopted postharvest drying, retained chlorogenic acid, 4‐ O ‐caffeinyliquinic rutin better, due microstructure changes treated with most. In samples, US‐FD improved lycopene, β‐carotene retention, inaccessibility was reduced significantly during digestion. Cultivar × treatment affected phenolic compounds, activities phase. had power (FRAP) 3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulfonic (ABTS) scavenging Practical Application Tomatoes are an important part human diet. Their high perishability reduces their nutritional microbiological quality. lack cold storage infrastructure developing countries contributes food waste. Convective hot is suitable for recycling fresh market waste products as supplement powders. ultrasound pretreatment protects bioactive compounds fruit non‐thermal. There several limitations, including equipment cost, energy efficiency, integration commercial systems, which limit ultrasound‐assisted drying's scalability. (ultrasound‐assisted drying) could reduce contribute sustainable development goals agricultural industries.

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) and metabolic (dysfunction)-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) affect a growing number of individuals worldwide. T2D MASLD often coexist substantially elevate the risk adverse hepatic cardiovascular clinical outcomes. Several common pathogenetic mechanisms are responsible for onset progression, including insulin resistance, oxidative stress, low-grade inflammation, among others. The latter can also be induced by gut microbiota its derived metabolites. Natural bioactive compounds (NBCs) have been reported their therapeutic potential in both MASLD. A large amount evidence obtained from trials suggests that like berberine, curcumin, soluble fibers, omega-3 fatty acids exhibit significant hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, hepatoprotective activity humans may employed as adjunct therapy management. In this review, role most studied NBCs management is discussed, emphasizing recent supporting these compounds' efficacy safety. Also, prebiotics act against dysfunction modulating evaluated.
