Microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics (NPs) are widely spread in the environment, generating significant concern due to their potential impact on environmental health. Marine species usually ingest plastic fragments, mistaking them for food. Many toxic compounds, such as additives that not chemically bound matrix, can be released from MPs NPs reach humans via food chain. This paper highlights development validation of a straightforward solid–liquid extraction clean-up procedure combination with matrix solid-phase dispersion method using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) detection, enabling facile, precise, reliable identification quantitation total six bisphenols phthalates gilthead sea breams. Under optimized conditions, developed showed good linearity (R2 > 0.993) all target compounds. The recoveries obtained were between 70 92%. relative standard deviations (RSDs) reproducibility (inter-day) repeatability (intra-day) less than 9% 10%, respectively. limit detection (LOD) quantification (LOQ) compounds ranged 0.11 0.68 µg/kg 0.37 2.28 µg/kg, A new, efficient methodology determination BPA, BPS, BPF, DBP, DEP, DHEP seabream has been validated.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a synthetic chemical widely employed to synthesize epoxy resins, polymer materials, and polycarbonate plastics. BPA abundant in the environment, i.e., food containers, water bottles, thermal papers, toys, medical devices, etc., incorporated into soil/water through leaching. Being potent endocrine disrupter, has potential alter several body mechanisms. Studies confirmed its anti-androgen action estrogen-like effects, which impart many negative health impacts, especially on immune system, neuroendocrine process, reproductive mechanism. Moreover, it can also induce mutagenesis carcinogenesis, as per recent scientific research. This review focuses BPA's presence concentrations different environments, sources basic mechanisms of BPA-induced toxicity disruptions. It unique type because association cancer, hormonal disruption, immunosuppression, infertility with BPA. These issues are widespread today, significantly contributes their incidence wide usage daily life utensils other accessories. The discusses researched-based measures cope toxic chemical.

The presence of microplastics (MPs) is increasing at a dramatic rate globally, posing risks for exposure and subsequent potential adverse effects on human health. Apart from being physical objects, MP particles contain thousands plastic-associated chemicals (i.e., monomers, chemical additives, non-intentionally added substances) captured within the polymer matrix. These are often migrating MPs can be found in various environmental matrices food chains; health effects. In addition to attributes MPs, plastic surfaces effectively bind exogenous chemicals, including pollutants (e.g., heavy metals, persistent organic pollutants). Therefore, act as vectors pollution across air, drinking water, food, further amplifying posed by exposure. Critically, fragmentation plastics environment increases risk interactions with cells, available leach adsorb transfer pollutants. This review proposes so-called triple nexus approach comprehensively map existing knowledge interconnected particles, Based data, there large gap regard cumulative nexus. Each component known induce genotoxicity, inflammation, endocrine disruption, but about long-term inter-individual lacking. Furthermore, not readily excreted organisms after ingestion they have been accumulated blood, cardiac tissue, placenta, etc. Even though number studies MPs-associated impacts rapidly, this underscores that pressing necessity achieve an integrated assessment MPs' order address future gaps.

The global production and use of plastic materials has increased dramatically since the 1960s there is increasing evidence human health impacts related to exposure plastic-associated chemicals. There is, however, no comprehensive, regulatory, post-market monitoring for effects chemicals or particles it unclear how many these have been investigated in humans, therefore what knowledge gaps are.To create a systematic map peer-reviewed studies investigating potential particles/chemicals on identify research provide recommendations future regulation policy.Medline Embase databases were used primary published English from Jan 1960 - 2022 that relationships between exposures included measured detected bio-samples outcomes. Plastic-associated are: micro nanoplastics, due their widespread occurrence exposure; polymers, main building blocks plastic; plasticizers flame retardants, two most common types additives with highest concentration ranges materials; bisphenols per- polyfluoroalkyl substances, chemical classes known concern are plastics. We extracted metadata population study characteristics (country, intergenerational, sex, age, general/special risk status, design), (plastic-associated particle/chemical, multiple exposures), outcome measures (biochemical, physiological, and/or clinical), which we produced interactive database 'Plastic Health Map' narrative summary. We identified 100,949 unique articles, 3,587 met our inclusion criteria map. Polyethylene (PE) is the most widely used type of plastic food packaging, in which chemicals can potentially migrate into packaged foods. The implications using and recycling PE from a chemical perspective remain underexplored. This study systematic evidence map 116 studies looking at migration contact (FCCs) across lifecycle packaging. It identified total 377 FCCs, 211 were detected to articles or simulants least once. These FCCs checked against inventory databases EU regulatory lists. Only 25% are authorized by regulation for manufacture materials. Furthermore, quarter exceeded specific limit (SML) once, while one-third (53) non-authorised threshold value 10 μg/kg. Overall, on packaging incomplete, especially reprocessing stage. Considering EU's commitment increase recycling, better understanding monitoring quality entire will enable transition towards sustainable plastics chain.
