MicroRNAs
(miRNAs)

that
regulate
gene
expression
at
the
post-transcriptional
level.
They
involved
in
regulation
of
multiple
pathways,
related
to
both
physiological
and
pathological
conditions,
including
autoimmune
diseases,
such
as
Systemic
Sclerosis
(SSc).
Specifically,
SSc
is
recognized
a
complex
multifactorial
disease,
characterized
by
vascular
abnormalities,
immune
dysfunction,
progressive
fibrosis,
affecting
skin
internal
organs.
Among
predisposing
environmental
triggers,
evidence
supports
roles
oxidative
stress,
chemical
agents,
viral
infections,
mostly
those
sustained
beta-herpesviruses
HCMV
HHV-6.
Dysregulated
levels
miRNA
have
been
found
patients
compared
healthy
controls,
intra-
extracellular
levels,
