Abstract Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is common, often debilitating, and may affect over 50% of reproductive‐aged women girls. Whereas AUB a collection symptoms that include intermenstrual abnormalities in period duration, cycle length, regularity, it heavy menstrual (HMB) most contributory to iron deficiency related anemia. It apparent AUB, general, HMB, particular, remain underrecognized underreported. FIGO created two systems for assessing classifying AUB. System 1 defines the pattern using four primary descriptors: frequency, flow volume. 2 provides structured classification system possible causes acronym PALM‐COEIN. “PALM” refers structural (Polyp, Adenomyosis, Leiomyoma, Malignancy), “COEI” nonstructural (Coagulopathy, Ovulatory dysfunction, Endometrial, Iatrogenic). The “N” reserved those entities are currently not otherwise classified. Using as gateway streamlines investigation girls with Understanding pathogenesis “PALM‐COEIN” helps interpret investigations onward management Numerous evidence gaps exist concerning AUB; however, if researchers trialists universally adopt Systems assessment diagnosis clear translatable research findings can be applied globally.

Tranexamic acid is safe and effective for the treatment of heavy vaginal bleeding during menstruation childbirth. It improves quality life, facilitates participation in school work, reduces risk death from postpartum hemorrhage. Despite its well-established benefits, individual- structural-level barriers preclude widespread utilization, hindering patient care perpetuating health inequities women's health. We first describe evidence use tranexamic treating menstrual Barriers to use, including structural sexism, period poverty, misinformation product monograph labeling, stigmatization blood loss, drug access, are then discussed. Finally, we summarize relevant data presented 2023 International Society on Thrombosis Haemostasis Congress.

Abstract Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) poses a significant health challenge during pregnancy, affecting up to 30% of pregnant women in the UK. It has been linked poor outcomes for mother, foetus, and infant. Despite its prevalence impact, current diagnostic therapeutic approaches are limited. Ensuring an adequate iron status pregnancy requires prompt investigation treatment whilst avoiding excessive supplementation associated side effects. Hepcidin, key regulator trafficking body, emerged as promising candidate tailoring individual needs responsiveness. However, research on hepcidin‐based yields mixed findings, necessitating comprehensive review elucidate potential utility guiding therapy with IDA. This literature seeks synthesise existing evidence explore role hepcidin personalised IDA identify avenues future pave way improved management pregnancy.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a glucose metabolism disorder with an unclear etiology that occurs specifically during pregnancy. While elevated serum ferritin levels have been reported to increase the risk of GDM, these findings lack validation in large-scale studies and yet inform clinical practice effectively. This study enrolled 12,434 controls 3599 GDM patients employed binary multifactorial logistic regression, restricted cubic spline, propensity score matching, random forest algorithm explore relationship between as well effect size on GDM. The results indicated higher compared second third trimesters. A weak correlation was found OGTT 1-hour 2-hour blood trimester. Logistic regression (LR) spline (RCS) analyses showed significant positive Propensity matching analysis association second-trimester remained nearly constant before after matching. suggested among all confounders, had minimal risk. In conclusion, our provides further compelling evidence for gestational mellitus. However, additional research still needed clarify specific mechanisms underlying this association.

Abstract The prevalence of iron deficiency anemia in Ghana persists despite the national health policy routine supplementation and education for pregnant women during antenatal care. This makes it worrying as such, studies should be conducted to uncover why there is an increase among women, after interventions prevent phenomenon. Thus, study aimed assess knowledge, practices, relationship between knowledge practices regarding anemia. A descriptive cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach convenient sampling method was used conducting study. Standard closed-ended questionnaire elicit responses from registered respondents. revealed that 69.5% respondents’ depicted good pregnancy 65% showed on pregnancy. There positive correlation (r = 0.68) level Pregnant who received care at Anum's Salvation Army Hospital demonstrated adequate behaviors preventing It recommended midwives intensify clinical manifestations
