ABSTRACT
Universal
health
coverage,
including
financial
risk
protection,
remains
a
critical
challenge
in
low‐
and
middle‐income
countries
like
Bangladesh,
where
out‐of‐pocket
(OOP)
healthcare
payments
often
lead
to
distress,
especially
climate‐vulnerable
regions.
Addressing
this
gap,
the
study
examines
determinants
of
catastrophic
expenditure
(CHE)
its
impact
on
poverty
seven
climatic
zones
Bangladesh.
Using
probit
fixed‐effects
regression
models
with
longitudinal
data
from
75,840
households
spanning
2000–2016,
identified
rising
incidence
CHE,
particularly
coastal
regions,
which
resulted
annual
impoverishment
9%
population
(14.5
million
individuals
nationally).
Key
findings
revealed
that
female‐headed
households,
larger
family
size,
presence
children,
elderly
individuals,
reproductive
women,
chronic

lower

Abstract
This
paper
empirically
investigates
the
relationship
between
cooperative
banking
and
local
sustainable
development
through
a
panel
analysis
of
103
Italian
provinces
over
period
2005–2021.
Results
show
that
credit
banks
exert
positive
impact
on
development,
although
this
effect
manifests
heterogeneously
across
different
dimensions
characterize

As
local
governments
play
a

in

sustainable
development
goals,

action),
decentralization
policies
offer
the
flexibility
to
modify
climate
strategies
