Abstract Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) represent a relatively new family of materials that attract lots attention thanks to their unique features such as hierarchical porosity, active metal centers, versatility linkers/metal nodes, and large surface area. Among the extended list MOFs, Zr‐based‐MOFs demonstrate comparably superior chemical thermal stabilities, making them ideal candidates for energy environmental applications. As Zr‐MOF, NU‐1000 is first synthesized at Northwestern University. A comprehensive review various approaches synthesis MOFs obtaining properties (e.g., diverse morphologies, area, particular pore size distribution) applications in catalysis (electro‐, photo‐catalysis), CO 2 reduction, batteries, hydrogen storage, gas storage/separation, other fields are presented. The further outlines current challenges development derivatives practical applications, revealing areas future investigation.

Inefficient charge separation and slow interfacial reaction dynamics significantly hamper the efficiency of photocatalytic CO2 reduction. Herein, a facile EDC/NHS-assisted linking strategy was developed to enhance in heterojunction photocatalysts. Using this approach, we successfully synthesized amide-bonded carbon quantum dot-g-C3N4 (CQD-CN) The formation amide covalent bonds between CN CQDs CN-CQD facilitates efficient carrier migration, adsorption, activation. Exploiting these advantages, photocatalysts exhibit high selectivity with CO CH4 evolution rates 79.2 2.7 μmol g-1 h-1, respectively. These are about 1.7 3.6 times higher than those CN@CQD bulk CN, Importantly, demonstrate exceptional stability, even after 12 h continuous testing. presence COOH* signal is identified as crucial intermediate species conversion CO. This study presents bonding engineering for developing high-performance solar-driven reduction CO2.

Abstract Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are one type of porous materials linked by covalent bonds. COFs exhibit many outstanding characteristics such as high porosity, chemical and thermal stability, large specific surface area, efficient electron transfer efficiency, the ability for predesigned structures. These exceptional advantages enable to remarkable performance in photocatalysis. Additionally, activity photocatalysts can be significantly upgraded ion doping formation heterojunctions. This paper summarizes latest research progress on COF‐based applied photocatalytic systems. Initially, typical structures preparation methods analyzed compared. Abstract The widely discussed single‐atom catalysts (SACs) are regarded as a kind of attractive material for sulfate radical‐based advanced oxidation processes (SR‐AOPs) owing to their maximum atomic utilization efficiency and outstanding stability. Currently, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have appeared prospective precursors building SACs due extensive chelating sites, functional adjustability, structural tunability. However, there few critical systematic reviews about the application MOF‐derived in SR‐AOPs, especially in‐depth analysis mechanisms.
