Without intervention, the natural wound healing process can often result in scarring, which have detrimental effects on both physical and mental well-being of patients. Therefore, it is crucial to develop biomaterials that promote without scarring. Regulating Yes-associated protein-1/PDZ-binding motif (YAP/TAZ) signaling pathway possible reduce excessive fibrosis fibroblasts proliferation vascular endothelial cells, ultimately impacting scar formation. Arsenic trioxide (ATO), an ancient drug with medicinal toxic properties, has shown promise regulating this pathway. An ATO-loaded hydrogel dressing (ATO@CS/SA) was created facilitate scarless healing, utilizing chitosan (CS) sodium alginate (SA) prevent direct contact ATO tissue minimize potential side effects. In vitro studies demonstrated low concentrations did not impact cell viability even promoted migration. Co-culturing cells led decreased expression levels YAP TAZ. Animal over a 90-day period revealed significant inhibition formation system. Histological experiments further confirmed TAZ responsible for outcome. conclusion, when administered at appropriate dose, be repurposed from traditional poison therapeutic agent, effectively suppressing blood vessel offering novel approach scar-free treatment.
