Aflatoxin (AFT) contamination poses a significant global public health and safety concern, prompting widespread apprehension. Of the various AFTs, aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) stands out for its pronounced toxicity association with spectrum of chronic ailments, including cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disorders, cancer. Lycopene, lipid-soluble natural carotenoid, has emerged as potential mitigator deleterious effects induced by AFB1 exposure, spanning cardiac injury, hepatotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, intestinal damage, reproductive impairment. This protective mechanism operates reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, lipid peroxidation, activating mitochondrial apoptotic pathway, facilitating activation biogenesis, endogenous antioxidant system, nuclear factor erythroid 2-related 2 (Nrf2)/kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (KEAP1) peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ coactivator-1 (PGC-1) pathways, well regulating activities cytochrome P450 (CYP450) enzymes. review provides an overview lycopene against exposure-induced underlying molecular mechanisms. Furthermore, it explores profile clinical applications lycopene. The present underscores lycopene’s promising detoxification agent intent to stimulate further research practical utilization in this domain.

The T-2 toxin, originating from a Fusarium species, is mycotoxin that can adversely affect animal health. Melatonin (MT) natural hormone recognized for its properties reduce inflammation and act as an antioxidant. However, MT's capacity to alleviate intestinal harm toxin remains incompletely explored. Employing postweaning piglets, this research investigates prophylactic impact on toxin-induced enterotoxicity. results indicate MT improved growth performance in piglets exposed toxins while also enhancing barrier function. Such effects probably stem ability colonic oxidative stress inflammation. Further findings suggest these changes are closely associated with MT-induced remodeling of microbiota increase short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) levels the intestine. therefore alleviates damage; gut key process.

Owing to its high throughput, simplicity, and rapidity, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) has attracted much attention in the field of immunoassays. However, traditional ELISA usually affords a single signal readout labeling ability enzyme used is poor, resulting low accuracy limited detection range. Herein, vanadium nanospheres (VNSs)-mediated competitive ratio nanozymes-linked (VNSs-RNLISA) was created for sensitive T-2 toxin (T-2). As key biosensor, VNSs with superoxide dismutase-like peroxidase-like dual-enzyme mimetic activities were synthesized by one-step hydrothermal method, which oxidized 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl fading catalyzed 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) color development. Therefore, could not only be qualitatively measured naked eye but also quantitatively evaluated monitoring absorbance at 450 517 nm wavelengths. Moreover, characterization VNSs-labeled antibody probe showed strong dual-enzymatic activity, excellent stability, affinity [the constant (ka) approximately 1.36 × 108 M-1], can significantly improve sensitivity. The limit VNSs-RNLISA 0.021 ng/mL, 27-fold more than (0.561 ng/mL). Besides, change (Δ450/Δ517) decreased linearly range 0.22-13.17 outperforming single-mode nano-enzyme-linked using TMB factor 1.6 times. Furthermore, successfully identify maize oat samples, recoveries ranging from 84.216 125.371%. Overall, this tactic offered promising platform quick food might broaden application assay.
