BACKGROUND Chronic psychological stress (CPS) is increasingly recognized for its detrimental effects on systemic and oral health, yet impact peri-implantitis remains underexplored. AIM To evaluate the evidence linking CPS to peri-implantitis. METHODS This systematic review was conducted according PRISMA guidelines. Publications searching PubMed, EMBASE, MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, ClinicalTrials.gov human studies published in English from 1983 December 2024. Additionally, quality assessment of selected full-text articles were performed using modified Newcastle–Ottawa Scale. RESULTS From an initial total 3964 studies, 4 cross-sectional comprising 432 participants met inclusion criteria consistently demonstrated a positive association between However, findings are compromised by small sample sizes, study design limitations, methodological heterogeneity, inadequate adjustment critical confounders such as smoking prior periodontitis. CONCLUSION Cortisol levels peri-implant sulcus fluid linearly correlated with probing depth, suggesting this relationship may be independent hyperglycemia. Depression emerged most significant subtype associated amplify inflammation modulating cytokine expression effects. Long-term larger, more diverse patient populations careful control confounding variables needed establish causality understand underlying mechanisms. Including evaluations management techniques care protocols could improve treatment outcomes health.

Abstract Objective The objective of this study was to examine the impact and underlying mechanisms Aconitum Heterophyllum in mitigating cellular inflammation. Methods Initially, principal components A.heterophyllum were obtained from relevant literature sources, corresponding protein targets searched on Pubchem Swiss Target Prediction database. Subsequently, genes linked with inflammation gathered PHARMGKB, OMIM, GeneCards databases. core screened, a protein–protein interaction (PPI) network constructed using Cytoscape 3.9.1. For general targets, gene ontology (GO) analysis Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes (KEGG) conducted. Molecular docking further applied for compounds. Finally, RAW264.7 model constructed, MTT assay, Griess assay qRT-PCR used initially validate anti-inflammatory effects A. heterophyllum its mechanisms. Results In total, 35 compounds 1322 associated , along 3534 implicated intersection yielded 244 common contributing enrichment 146 pathways. Notably, results molecular revealed strong binding between active targets. Furthermore, vitro experiments indicated potential ’s ingredient through modulation EGFR/JAK2/STAT3 pathway EGFR-AKT pathway, as well inhibiting NO release reduce inflammatory response. Conclusion exerts activity by EGFR-AKT1 signal transduction.
