Abstract Methotrexate (MTX) is an antimetabolite drug utilized for managing a variety of cancers and autoinflammatory conditions. MTX may trigger detrimental effects in mout, h tissues, including salivary gland impairment. Bosentan (BOS), that blocks endothelin receptors, has strengthened antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic properties. The study aimed to estimate the protective effect BOS on MTX-exacerbated changes Wistar Albino rats. Thirty male rats were arbitrarily sorted into three groups ten animals each. control group received normal saline 18 days. (induction) (25 mg/kg) intraperitoneally 7th day experiment once daily 6 consecutive + (50 orally days: days before induction, 2-h after post-induction. Animals euthanized 19, tissues dissected biochemical, histopathological, immunohistochemical analyses. dramatically improved MTX-aggravated biochemical histopathological abnormalities, as evidenced by diminished Bax, caspase 3, TNF-α, IL-1β, MDA, MPO levels, increased SOD, GSH, GPX reduced degenerative granular convolute tubule, mucous acini, striate duct. further substantially upregulated MTX-induced decline Ki-67 Bcl-2, indicated immunohistochemistry scoring methods. anti-oxidative, ant-inflammatory, antiapoptotic properties are promising strategy ameliorating toxic submandibular glandular tissues.

ABSTRACT Burn injury elicits an inflammatory response, metabolic abnormalities, and distributional shock leading to diverse organ dysfunctions with remarkable morbidity mortality. Sluggish wound healing, infections, hypertrophic scars still struggle in burn treatment. Lycoperdon lividum , a puffball mushroom enriched polyphenols, has outstanding antioxidative anti‐inflammatory properties. This study aimed assess the benefits of L. on second‐degree lesions rat model at 100°C. Seventy‐five male rats were haphazardly separated into five groups 15 each: Control (without any skin induction/treatment), (skin induction/non‐treated), β‐sitosterol (treated topical 0.25%), Vehicle Vaseline), watery extract 10%). Rats euthanized Days 5, 10, 20 experiment. was analyzed using HPLC techniques. Skin samples collected for microscopical histopathological examinations. Biomarkers involving IL‐6, IL‐10, TGF‐β1, TNF‐α, VEGF homogenates. The chromatogram revealed distinct peaks bioactive compounds including kaempferol, rutin, ferulic acid, caffeic chlorogenic quercetin, gallic acid. greatly alleviated via improving contraction, correcting inflammation, granulation aberrations while boosting fibrosis. outcomes validated by analyses. Further, markedly improved healing wounds regulating cytokines (IL‐6 TNF‐α), (IL‐10 TGF‐β1), angiogenic (VEGF) tissues. potential thanks its antioxidant actions.

Background Cataracts are an assortment of conditions causing the lens to become opaque and lose its typical transparency. Topical corticosteroids like loteprednol etabonate dexamethasone commonly administered alleviate inflammation following cataract surgery. Aim study To compare efficacy in managing different clinical parameters removal, as well their patient safety. Methods This trial was registered by local IRB at College Medicine/University Baghdad on November 27, 2023, under document approval number UoB.Med.21. Patients undergoing surgery were randomly assigned two groups: group A received 0.5% drop postoperatively for four weeks, while B 0.1% same period. The levels intraocular pressure (IOP), anterior chamber (AC) reaction, scores flare, conjunctival congestion, pain monitored one weeks during follow-up visits. Results visual outcomes similar between groups, both treatments tolerated with minor side effects. Both effectively reduced IOP, AC grading patients. None these measures displayed any significant differences drugs. Conclusion There is no difference topical pertaining ocular post-cataract decision may depend needs preferences.

Methotrexate (MTX) is an antifolate medication indicated to treat array of tumors and autoinflammatory maladies. MTX may exhibit harmful impacts on multiple organs, especially liver injury cirrhosis. Juniperus macrocarpa a medicinal herb enriched with polyphenols flavonoids featuring robust anti-inflammatory antioxidative benefits. To evaluate the hepatoprotective effects aqueous extract MTX-aggravated toxicity. The study involved 20 male middle-aged albino rats, arbitrarily allocated into 4 groups 5 animals each. Group 1 (control) were given distilled water (DW) once daily for two weeks. 2 got intraperitoneal single dose (20 mg/kg) Rats in 3 dosages 100 mg 200 extract, respectively, weeks before receiving injection. extracts at both low high doses substantially alleviated MTX-provoked biochemical alterations, as evidenced by decreased levels inflammatory parameters including TNF-α IL-6 hepatic enzymes ALT, AST, ALP. also significantly boosted anti-oxidant like SOD GPX. Moreover, attenuated congestive degenerative changes, improved histopathological findings. anti-oxidative activities are promising approach ameliorating hepatotoxicity.
