The mycotoxin deoxynivalenol (DON) was one of the priority substances in European Joint Human Biomonitoring Initiative (HBM4EU) project. In this study, to better interpret actual internal exposure DON general population and safeguard public health, human biomonitoring guidance values for (HBM-GVGenPop) were derived. HBM-GVGenPop based on either total (DON its glucuronides) or DON’s main metabolite (DON-15-GlcA) levels 24-h urine samples, resulting a 0.023 µg/mL 0.020 DON-15-GlcA. use samples is recommended fact that metabolites have short elimination half-life (T1/2), 95% cumulative amount excreted within 12 h after intake. T1/2 DON, DON-15-GlcA, estimated be 2.55 h, 2.95 respectively. Therefore, sample reflects almost all from previous day, type considered derivation DON.

Exposomics aims to measure human exposures throughout the lifespan and changes they produce in body. Exposome-scale studies have significant potential understand interplay of environmental factors with complex multifactorial diseases widespread our society whose origin remain unclear. In this framework, study chemical exposome cover all their effects health but, today, goal still seems unfeasible or at least very challenging, which makes for now only a concept. Furthermore, faces several methodological challenges such as moving from specific targeted methodologies towards high-throughput multitargeted non-targeted approaches, guaranteeing availability quality biological samples obtain analytical data, standardization applied methodologies, well statistical assignment increasingly datasets, identification (un)known analytes. This review discusses various steps involved applying concept an perspective. It provides overview wide variety existing methods instruments, highlighting complementarity develop combined strategies advance characterization. addition, focuses on endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) show how studying even minor part represents great challenge. Analytical exposomics context shown elucidate role EDCs outcomes. However, translating innovative into etiological research risk assessment will require multidisciplinary effort. Unlike other articles focused exposomics, offers holistic view perspective chemistry discuss entire workflow finally valuable results.

Stevia rebaudiana, belonging to the Asteraceae family, was authenticated by Botanical Survey of India, Kolkata. Molecular and taxonomic identification using 18S rRNA primers confirms presence a fungal endophyte, Acremonium sclerotigenum CBS 124.42, based on nucleotide homology phylogenetic analysis. The extract displayed strong antioxidant activity, with Superoxide Dismutase at 78.9 ± 3.01 μg/g, Catalase 319.7 2.05 Phenylalanine Ammonia‑Lyase 76 1.63 Radical Scavenging Assay (IC50) 28.1 6.96 mg/g, FRAP 27.6 0.68 μM. Chemical analysis confirmed that A. 124.42 produces stevioside identical standard compound. UV‑Vis spectroscopy showed λmax 210 nm for both endophytic extracts. UHPLC‑ESI‑MS revealed peak area 34.2 mAU/min nearly double (16.9 mAU/min), indicating higher compound abundance. Stevioside concentration in determined be 1.94 mg/ml, four times greater than regenerated callus (0.451 mg/ml) six plant leaf (0.274 mg/g). ESI‑MS further identity, mass‑to‑charge ratio 803.49 m/z, closely matching (803.40 m/z). These findings highlight as promising alternative source production, offering sustainable efficient bioproduction platform its applicability pharmaceutical nutraceutical industries.

Mycotoxins are toxic secondary metabolites produced by various fungi that can contaminate food crops, which, in turn, may lead to human exposure. Chronic exposure mycotoxins cause adverse health effects including reproductive and developmental toxicity. Pregnant women their foetuses present a vulnerable group for cross the placenta. Human biomonitoring of provides real-life approach estimate internal In this pilot study, 24-h urine samples from 36 pregnant Dutch were analysed aflatoxin M1 (AFM1), total deoxynivalenol (DON), de-epoxy-deoxynivalenol (DOM-1), zearalenone (ZEN), α-zearalenol (α-ZEL), β-zearalenol (β-ZEL) zearalanone (ZAN), where ‘total’ refers conjugated forms. Serum these fumonisin B1 (FB1) ochratoxin A (OTA). All measured using liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The most prevalent DON, ZEN OTA, with detection frequency 100%. DOM-1, α-ZEL β-ZEL detected but lesser extent, while AFM1, ZAN FB1 undetected. Median concentrations 4.75 μg DON/L, 0.0350 DOM-1/L, 0.0413 ZEN/L, 0.0379 α-ZEL/L, 0.0189 β-ZEL/L, 0.121 OTA/L. calculated median concentration its was 0.105 μg/L. Based on two separate risk assessment approaches, DON considered be low concern. Similarly, For non-neoplastic concern based group, neoplastic majority participants group. findings study confirm presence serum women, ZEN, OTA frequently detected. Exposure all except which participants. study’s offer valuable insights should confirmed larger more diverse sample general population.
