Due to the intensification of human activities, ecosystems are being polluted by heavy metals. The pollution metals in agricultural systems has become a serious issue global concern. This study detected bioaccumulation cadmium (Cd) broad beans and aphids through continuous exposure varying concentrations Cd (0, 3.125, 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50 mg/L) subsequently examined its effects on aphid energy metabolism reproductive ability. results showed that can be transmitted accumulated between Vicia faba L. along food chain, amount accumulation was related treatment concentration. Quantitative real-time PCR expression levels trehalase (TRE) trehalose-6-phosphate synthase (TPS) F1 were significantly upregulated, those vitellogenin (Vg) varied across five generations after treatment, which up-regulated, others down-regulated. Compared with control group, glycogen content two types activities first-generation Cd-treatment decreased, while trehalose increased; there no significant change carbohydrate activity fourth fifth aphids. In addition, reproduction female inhibited. research is helpful for studying toxic insects adaptation mechanisms extreme environments. It also provides theoretical basis further exploring molecular homeostasis plants under stress.

Whether soil heavy metal pollution contributes to the decline in pollinator populations remains inconclusive. Based on detection of metals nectar, pollen, and bodies pollinating insects areas affected by pollution, this study aimed investigate impact adding four metals-zinc (Zn), lead (Pb), copper (Cu), nickel (Ni)-at realistic concentrations diet pre-oviposition period, larval development production adult bees, weight worker bees. The sought evaluate influence accumulation mediated floral rewards key stages growth bumblebee (Bombus terrestris L.). Results revealed that Zn, Pb, Cu significantly extended period queen with Pb doubling time at high Ni showing no significant effect moderate low concentrations. Lead, Cu, medium concentrations, whereas Zn only had a reduced bee yield body bees different among which 25%-40%. concentration was most obvious, reduction 30%. Our findings support hypothesis rewards, can have serious some bumblebees.
