The air-curing process of cigar tobacco leaves is typically conducted in an open environment, involving the participation various microorganisms. However, effect microbial communities during on formation flavor components remains unclear. Therefore, this study aims to reveal dynamics and community changes, explore potential role process. High-throughput sequencing analysis showed that Pantoea, Sphingomonas Pseudomonas were dominant bacterial genera process, while Aspergillus was fungal genus. Subsequently, volatile shows alkaloids most important compounds leaves, followed by esters, alcohols aldehydes. Furthermore, 38 characteristic at different periods identified based PLS-DA air-curing. correlation between microorganisms Pantoea Staphylococcus might promote from browning post-air-curing positively correlated with specific like phenylacetaldehyde acetophenone. Phoma, Mycosphaerella, Wallemia, Cladosporium as key influencing formation, they positive correlations multiple components. These information enrich our understanding air curing. There a complex components, which may have great influence leaves. Bacterial higher species diversity richness air-curing, more characteristics flavor, play roles formation. This revealed provided guidance for subsequent screening functional improve stabilize flavor.

ABSTRACT Rationale The cigars have characteristic flavors in smoke when compared with cigarettes, and from various origins also a difference taste. However, little information can be found about the chemical components of smokes between cigar cigarette as well cigars, so it is interesting to compare their pyrolysis product distribution. Methods leaves were pyrolyzed microfluidized‐bed reactor, vapors condensed collected using cold traps. Mass spectrometric analysis liquids was performed utilizing electrospray ionization‐orbitrap mass spectrometry both positive negative ion modes. Results spectra condensable products three tobacco obtained by Orbitrap‐MS ESI DBE values (to carbon atom number) relative distribution nitrogen or oxygen different carefully discussed. Conclusion main relates N 1 –N 2 class compounds high‐mass range highly unsaturated nitrogenated compounds, while one two associated C x H y O z 5–9 30‐50 w compounds. Besides, oxygenated that fall into H/C > O/C < ranges are for Dominican cigar.

The quality of fermented plant leaves is closely related to the interleaf microorganisms and their metabolic activities. In this experiment, a multi-omics analysis was applied investigate link between structural composition phyllosphere microbial community main metabolites during fermentation process. It found that whole process cigar could be divided into three stages, in which Mid-Stage most active period activities occupied an important position.

Aims: Mildew poses a significant threat to tobacco industry. This study focuses on strain of Cladosporium asperulatum isolated from moldy leaves investigate its growth under different temperature and humidity conditions, aiming provide theoretical basis for local prevention control strategies against this fungus. Methodology: Potential fungal strains were obtained utilizing isolation techniques individual colonies cultured PDA medium subsequently. Microscopic examination molecular identification employed determine the species strains. Isolated was initially inoculated with varying spore powder concentrations at water activities 0.99, 0.95, 0.90, 0.87, 0.83, 0.77, combined diverse culture temperatures 15°C, 20°C, 25°C, 30°C, 35°C PDA. The colony area daily measured by ImageJ software, yield observed after 7-day incubation period these specified conditions. Results: (1) C. CY-H1 has rising trend increasing time consistent temperatures. Sporulation exhibited an initial increase followed decrease, yet overall demonstrated upward trajectory. maximum value attained activity 0.95. Under identical activity, escalating augmented until reaching 25°C. Similarly, production displayed highest occurring (2) Varied suspension influenced differently. A high concentration (initially 106 spores/mL) earlier compared (105 low (104 spores/mL). (3) did not thrive conditions 35°C, irrespective inoculation activity. Conclusion: assumes crucial role as predominant mold in storage environments. Effective mildew stored is achieved maintaining exceeding sustaining below 0.77. These findings highlight significance environmental controlling during storage.

Cigar tobacco leaves exhibited distinct regional characteristics, and aroma compounds were the key substances determining different style features of cigars. However, differences in characteristics mechanisms compound synthesis have not been fully elucidated. This study collected filler (FTLs) from 5 representative domestic international production regions. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) identified compounds, an wheel was established based on odor activity values (OAV), principal component analysis (PCA) orthogonal partial least squares discriminant (OPLS-DA) revealed major differences. Synthesis pathways differential components further explored using Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes (KEGG). In this study, 56 FTLs. Imported-FTLs (IMP-FTLs) contained higher levels ketones esters, along with moderate nicotine content, a more noticeable sour woody aroma. contrast, Domestic-FTLs (DOM-FTLs) had greater distribution aldehydes, phenols, neophytadiene, presenting prominent bean, burnt-sweet, floral Nine including sclareol, 5-methylfurfural, (
