Homicide is a significant measure of quality life and serves as reference point for comparison between neighborhoods. Despite its unique relevance to homicide, the role medical resources, specifically emergency hospital services, has been underexplored in literature. This study addresses this gap by examining relationship availability homicide rates across counties Pennsylvania, using advanced spatiotemporal modeling techniques. While controlling socio-economic characteristics spatial autocorrelation, analysis suggests that greater access services associated with lower rates. These findings call importance resources both future research health policy.

Homicide as the most serious form of lethal violence has always represented an important research focus in criminology. Much existing research, however, is based on aggregated homicide data and limited to macrolevel analyses. The European Monitor (EHM) initiative promoting standardized international collection, with aim collecting disaggregated detailed homicide. Originally developed by researchers from Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, EHM coding scheme currently applied several countries. In this article, we take stock use approach describing its key principles aims.
