Background/Objectives: Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals often face discrimination in healthcare settings, resulting health disparities. Evaluating professionals’ affirmative practices is essential for promoting inclusive care addressing these The aim of this study was to assess the psychometric properties Spanish version Gay Affirmative Practice Scale (GAP-ES), which measures towards gay individuals. Methods: Before assessing its properties, original (GAP) translated culturally adapted from English Spanish. Following translation, were tested on a sample 236 professionals. internal consistency questionnaire measured using Cronbach’s alpha discriminatory power index. Factor structure evaluated with Confirmatory Analysis (CFA) Diagonally Weighted Least Squares method. Results: consisted 152 female (64.41%) 84 male (35.59%) participants, 58.05% identifying as heterosexual, 28.81% homosexual, 13.14% bisexual. GAP-ES strong, values 0.915 Beliefs subscale 0.902 Behaviors subscale. McDonald’s Omega coefficient 0.942, indicating high reliability. CFA confirmed two-factor satisfactory fit indices (CFI = 0.999, RMSEA 0.071). Conclusions: demonstrates strong stable factor structure. It reliable tool evaluating toward LGBT patients Spanish-speaking contexts, supporting improved population. integration into clinical practice training programs may support enhancement cultural competence among professionals, contributing reduction disparities settings.

Introduction: To address health disparities among LGBTIQ+ communities, nurses must demonstrate cultural competence. This study aims to explore nursing students’ perceptions of sexual diversity enhance their Methods: A descriptive qualitative methodology was utilized with 48 first-year students at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain). Students created narrative photographs reflective quotes illustrate understanding sex, gender, orientation, and gender identity. Results: The thematic analysis 62 images reflections identified five themes: Recognizing by expanding my knowledge, Developing awareness, Gender sexuality as construction, Empathy a bridge for transcultural care, Becoming an ally. findings indicate that possess strong issues commitment fostering inclusive care settings. Discussion: highlights the necessity integrating content into curricula improve competence mitigate disparities.
