This article updates the evidence base on outpatient behavioral treatments for adolescent substance use (ASU) since publication of previous review completed this journal by Hogue, Henderson, Ozechowski, and Robbins (2014). It first summarizes Hogue et al. findings along with those from recent literature reviews meta-analytic studies ASU treatments. then presents study design methods criteria used to select 11 comparative subjected Journal Clinical Child Adolescent Psychology level support evaluation. These are detailed in terms their sample characteristics, methodological quality, outcomes. Background/Objectives: Cognitive challenges in attention and executive function worsen over time individuals with major depressive disorder (MDD) suicidal risk. These difficulties persist beyond acute episodes, limited targeted treatments available. Neurologic music therapy (NMT) is effective for cognitive rehabilitation brain injuries developmental disabilities, suggesting potential benefits adults MDD suicide This pilot study evaluated the feasibility, acceptability, preliminary effectiveness of short-term NMT on MDD. Methods: Adults aged 18+ ideations participated an 8-week single-arm open label 45-min individual in-person sessions using musical control training (MACT) (MEFT). Participants provided feedback feasibility pre- post-intervention assessments included neurocognitive tasks questionnaires ideation, symptoms, quality life. Results: A total 18 enrolled, 10 participants completed protocol. Of participants, 100% were satisfied their experience NMT, noting improvements 80% function. experienced some memory (Digit Span Forward Test), flexibility (Trail Making Test B), inhibitory (Stroop Task). Significant reduction ideation intensity (Beck Suicidal Scale Ideation) was observed, as well significant Conclusions: first to demonstrate respect risk, providing data future randomized controlled trials.

This empirical phenomenology study reports adolescents/young adults (AYA) experiences of the therapeutic music video (TMV) intervention arm a randomized controlled clinical trial (Children's Oncology Group; COG-ANUR0631; R01 NR008583) during hospitalization for hematopoietic stem cell transplant. A purposive subsample 14 AYA were interviewed using broad open-ended data-generating question about their TMV experiences. At end each interview, we also asked suggestions on how to improve TMV. Analysis narrative data resulted in four theme categories: (a) An Interwoven Experience Transplant and Intervention; (b) as Guided Opportunity Reflection, Self-Expression, Meaning-Making; (c) Telling My Story: The Work Deriving Meaning; (d) Way Overcome Bad Side Cancer. improving are summarized.
