The key to efficacious intervention for youths with problematic sexual behavior (PSB) is direct caregiver involvement. Engaging families in treatment PSB has unique complexities beyond known challenges behavioral health overall. Qualitative research and caregivers complements clinical outcome by examining consumer perception of impact, supports, barriers. authors sought understand impressions identify factors that impact family participation. Following the completion PSB–cognitive therapy, 149 144 completed a program exit survey. interviews were also conducted 30 gain further insight into their experiences. Results revealed communicated targets improvements knowledge skills, communication, youth behavior, social support. Childhood adversity is highly prevalent and associated with risk for poor health outcomes in childhood throughout the life course. Empirical literature on resilience over past 40 years has identified protective factors traumatized children that improve outcomes. Despite these empirical investigations of resilience, there limited integration findings into proactive strategies to mitigate impact adverse experiences. Abstract The current systematic review examined the similarities and differences between mothers’ fathers’ reported barriers facilitators to engaging in family-based interventions for child adolescent behavioural problems (aged 2–17 years). Systematic searches of six electronic databases grey literature alongside a two-way screening process identified twenty eligible qualitative studies from 2004 2019. A thematic meta-synthesis major themes psychological, situational, knowledge/awareness, programme/intervention, co-parenting, practitioner, beliefs/attitudes factors, group experiences stages engagement. However, emerged subthemes related parental, treatment, service delivery factors that included individual ideologies parenting, parental roles, treatment participation; role mothers facilitating engagement; preferences content delivery. Objective. To investigate, using qualitative methodology, foster caregivers’ perspectives related to the medical needs of children placed in their care. Study design. Fifteen caregivers were individually interviewed a semistructured open-ended question guide. Data coded, and analysis was conducted an inductive manner, allowing themes emerge from interviews. Results. The following 4 identified: (1) fragmented histories provided difficulty obtaining information; (2) unique complications that care experience; (3) difference between “doing what is expected” becoming proactive caregiver; (4) support caregivers. Conclusions. Foster receive insufficient information despite evidence these are likely have complex needs. It is, therefore, necessary for pediatrician recognize existing problems, identify new educate caregivers, communicate with multidisciplinary team.
