Providing adaptive, independence-preserving and theory-guided support to students in dealing with real-world problems mathematics lessons is a major challenge for teachers their professional practice. This paper examines this the context of simulations mathematical modelling digital tools: addition difficulties when autonomously working out individual solutions, may also experience challenges using tools. These need be closely examined diagnosed, might – if necessary have overcome by intervention such way that can subsequently continue independently. Thus, difficulty arises process, two knowledge dimensions are order provide adapted students. For teaching tools, more specifically, these are: pedagogical content about simulation processes supported tools (this includes phases process) interventions during mentioned (focussing on characteristics suitable as well implementation effects students’ process). The represent cognitive dispositions basis conceptualisation operationalisation so-called adaptive competence In our article, we present domain-specific process model distinguish different types teacher interventions. Then describe design university course at German universities aiming promote competence, among others. study quasi-experimental pre-post ( N = 146), confirm structure described empirically two-dimensional model. addition, effectiveness confirmed quantitatively. Finally, results discussed, especially against background sample research design, conclusions derived possibilities promoting courses.

To promote gender equity in physics education, it is essential to understand the factors that influence how even pre-service teachers perceive, interpret and make decisions when inequities arise classroom. This means we need pay particular attention teachers' professional vision of gender-sensitive teaching. The following study examines interest teaching learning, as well their learning opportunities experiences potential predictors vision. A questionnaire a vignette test were used for cross-sectional survey 586 Switzerland. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was analyse predictors. results contribute current research on highlighting importance strongest predictor, followed by experience number opportunities. are discussed terms relevance teacher training programs science education.

Applying a graphing quadratic worksheet as medium for learning the concept of Quadratic Function clearer is an alternative instrument to accommodate needs developing students' mathematical visual thinking. In implementing should show details dominant and recessive thinking classification aspects that develop in students. Classification be completed determine stages improving instructions are applied especially aspects. Therefore, there need evaluate factors trace developed students after practicing worksheet. The purpose this research categorization items do not Confirmatory factor analysis was employed method on 12 sub-variables from three classifications As data, 93 student records were used. Four main formed result confirmatory procedure, with top two factors, namely 1 2, completely representing each aspect achieving loading significance criteria. implication variables have strong relationship ability overall. Enhanced by cumulative variance value 2 specifically 56.88% total 81.78% all factors. Thereby it can said develops achieved sensibly.

AbstractEmpirical studies demonstrate that students have some difficulties with the mathematical modeling process. Studies contain various applications for developing students' competencies. This study investigated video-based tasks' impact on competencies a descriptive design. In this context, it aims to compare eighth-grade secondary school in environment where tasks are presented video and worksheet. Differences similarities between two groups were observed study. Specifically, while both acted similarly working interpretation stages, differences found favor of group whose activities applied creating real models. Especially situations can be considered an effective tool The results confirm contribute incorporating real-life experiences into process. Keywords: Mathematical competenciestechnology-based environmentvideo-based task Correction StatementThis research is derived from first author's dissertation conducted under supervision second author.
