In reality, there is often information asymmetry between upstream and downstream enterprises in a closed-loop supply chain (CLSC) system, which can have profound impact on the decisions of member operation system. Under asymmetric market demand information, this study examines CSR input recycling decision making CLSC. Four decision-making models were developed for CLSC, effects consumer sensitivity to CLSC optimization studied. The results indicate that higher enhances both levels rates, benefiting manufacturer retailer by increasing profits. terms levels, achieves best when independently managing recycling. However, improving rates demand, more effective responsible input, with handling Additionally, reduces manufacturer’s profit but may not affect retailer’s profit. retailer–manufacturer cooperation model proves beneficial overall system performance compared symmetry.

Purpose This study aims to analyze the implications of recent European Union Regulation 2023/1542 on circular economy and stakeholder strategies within electric vehicle lithium-ion battery (EV-LIB) sector. It explain policy intentions, recommend practical for stakeholders examine how new regulation exerts pressure transition from older directives more sustainable practices operational standards, while also highlighting gaps. Design/methodology/approach The research employs a dual-method approach, combining text analysis EU legislation with semi-structured interviews industry stakeholders. methodology allows comprehensive understanding regulatory impacts by integrating legislative intent practical, on-the-ground insights key players in EV-LIB Findings Our findings show that three aggregated dimensions sustainability, R&D technologies collaborative dynamics are underlying intended outcomes. highlight policy’s historical development, categories, each recommendations responding requirements.
