The promotion of farmers’ green production behavior (GPB) to accelerate agricultural development and food system transformation is a popular issue worldwide. Based on the representative literature from 2015 October 2024, this study reviews connotation stage characteristics GPB. current research focuses primarily primary industry, particularly agriculture, which not in line with global trend rural development; thus, it seems necessary reiterate connotation. driving factors GPB are discussed at individual, household, external levels, relationships effects each group reviewed; future should re-examine formation mechanism perspective industry integration upgrading. This paper refers practices major economies worldwide summarizes policy implications concerning A multiagent incentive constructed perspectives government-led, market-oriented, social participation. Finally, based evolving trends agriculture development, three potential directions proposed as follows: (i) broadening scope integration; (ii) empowering through digital intelligence; (iii) increasing security. review beneficial for better understanding promoting globally.

Based on the field survey data for 1216 apple growers in three provinces from China’s Loess Plateau Region, this paper adopted Multivariate Probit (MVP) model and intermediary effect to analyze influence mechanisms of digital technology adoption (DTA) farmers’ choices Fertilizer-reduction Efficiency-improving Technologies (FETs) perspective cognition (FC). The correlation effects typical FETs soil testing formula fertilization, integrated water-fertilizer fertilization slow/controlled release fertilizer, were tested empirically. results showed that DTA could significantly affect by growers, FC played a partial mediating role, there complementary among FETs. further confirmed propensity score matching (PSM) robustness test instrumental variable (IV) endogeneity conducted conditional mixed-process (CMP). our heterogeneity analysis promotion group with junior high school education or below was more significant than higher education, large operation scale. Therefore, improvement Internet penetration should not be taken as ultimate goal, but attention paid mastery effective use DTA, promote cognitive level, implement “bundled” publicity guidance strategy adoption, so help green transformation agriculture.

Purpose. The purpose of this study is to develop the methodology and framework for assessing level environmental friendliness startups in agricultural sector their compliance with circular economy sustainable development principles using T. L. Saaty’s analytic hierarchy process (AHP) enhance market attractiveness success. Methodology / approach. author’s was created based on AHP approach which a comprehensive decision-making used divide complex problems into clear hierarchical structure. This enables evaluation comparison multiple criteria facilitating informed decision-making. Calculations have been made RStudio. Results. authors’ startups’ sustainability were created. unique program developed executed RStudio R programming language. system consisting three main – “Compliance EU standards promotion”, business model principles”, “Resource usage rationality” corresponding sub-criteria. It determined that first criterion has highest impact startup eco-friendliness weight 49.2 %, second one 28.7 third 22.1 %. requirements experts also developed. Originality scientific novelty. substantiated application original success by strengthening brand image. proposed solution facilitates implementation innovative businesses, leading improvements protection waste management. Practical value implications. tested example bioenergy producing eco-friendly biofuels food industry wastes minimising toxic substances. Based experts’ opinion it calculated complies an image 78.6 % probability.

The agricultural production in China is gradually transitioning from extensive agriculture to green agriculture. In this context, identifying the driving factors and dimensions of farmers' behaviour can contribute promoting sustainable development. Existing studies lack investigation into identification among farmers different scales. This study examined 1 142 farm households five major grain-producing provinces North Plain 2019. We employed probit-ISM (interpretive structural modelling) models analyse scales identify dimensional differences. concluded following: i) Personal characteristics, household operational social network organisational cognitive characteristics were small-scale farmers. However, had insignificant effects on large-scale ii) number workers, scale operation, degree land fragmentation, whether relatives friends are civil servants deep-rooted behaviour. Part-time farming status, proportion grain income, types machinery, relationship with local machinery operators, middle indirect factors. Abstract This study contributes to the debate about effective regulatory strategies for environmental regulation in achieving sustainable agriculture, particularly understudied emerging economies. We leverage case of swine manure recovery China illuminate this crucial but under‐researched context. Building on theory planned behavior, which posits a gap between intention and we investigate how these regulations their combinations influence farmers' intentions behaviors toward resource recovery. Findings reveal command‐and‐control most effectively stimulate initial intentions, while incentive‐based work best bridging action. Information‐based approaches further strengthen conversion, when combined with incentives. Bridging disciplines behavioral science, advances theoretical understanding intention‐behavior policy. It informs design that promote agricultural practices developing countries, ultimately contributing Sustainable Development Goals.
