The aim of this study is to evaluate the contributions AI tool, ChatGPT, used by doctoral students improve their annual plans, and examine advantages challenges that arise throughout process. research was conducted using a qualitative case approach carried out with 13 students. data were analyzed content analysis, themes obtained from analysis result explained in detail student quotes. identified related ChatGPT's plan improvement, its disadvantages education, barriers usage. Additionally, students' perspectives on ChatGPT examined. findings reveal generally have positive outlook although some expressed cautious critical attitudes, voicing concerns about While offers such as addressing shortcomings, generating new ideas, clarifying learning outcomes, saving time, it also presents disadvantages, including reduction teacher-student interaction, issues objectivity, potential stifling thinking skills. Furthermore, access limitations, language barriers, technical infrastructure found restrict effective use technology.

Abstract The increasing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education has led to a surge interest AI‐assisted learning environments. These environments offer various advantages, yet deeper understanding their effects on key student‐related constructs the English as foreign language (EFL) context is essential. This study aimed fill this gap by investigating relationships between emotion regulation strategies, grit, self‐compassion, L2 experiences and academic demotivation among Chinese EFL learners AI‐supported settings. A quantitative research design was employed, with 219 students participating through purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires measuring five target analysed structural equation modelling. Results revealed that strategies positively associated negatively demotivation. Similarly, grit tendencies demonstrated positive correlations negative Self‐compassion similar patterns, associations findings important pedagogical implications for educators developers AI‐powered platforms China. Abstract As generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) transforms language education, teacher educators are uniquely positioned to equip teachers with the skills engage (AI) tools. Abstract This study investigated how ten Chinese university students interacted with ChatGPT to facilitate their acquisition of Spanish as a second language. In semi-informal educational setting, 370 prompts authored by the and AI-generated responses they yielded were collected over course one week. Secondary data sources included questionnaires learning diaries. Findings revealed that primarily sought assistance from vocabulary acquisition, reading comprehension, written expression, fewer focused on grammar or oral communication. The showed significant variation in length, language preference, pattern, though only small portion involved more than single prompt-response interaction. trend suggests largely task-oriented use ChatGPT, limited reflective engagement. points teacher ↔ AI learner relationship new dimension interaction offers practical recommendations for educators AI-assisted learning. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into applied (linguistics) has sparked significant interest due to its transformative potential in language teaching, learning, and research. With the advent AI models such as ChatGPT GPT-4, a comprehensive understanding their role impact field is imperative. This study provides an extensive content analysis existing literature on application AI, especially focusing GPT models, identify how these tools are influencing linguistic scholarship practice. A systematic review 73 scholarly articles was conducted, using design categorise based perspective towards linguistics—whether supportive, opposing, or mixed. Statistical analyses, including non-parametric one-way ANOVA Chi-square tests, were utilized discern patterns correlations within data. revealed diverse range applications viewpoints.
