Plasticizers are essential to reduce processing difficulties and improve plastic properties. However, petroleum-based phthalate plasticizers, which mostly used at present, urgently require alternatives due their confirmed serious health risks. In this study, the green mass production of trans-aconitic acid was achieved via synthetic biotechnology microbial fermentation, further expanded multiple application scenarios using chemical esterification, resulting in trans-aconitate plasticizers that biosafe environmentally friendly have high plasticizing efficiency long-term stability. Different with various core structures alkyl chains were studied determine properties as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) tributyl (TBA) displayed best comprehensive performance up 1.24 efficiency. The possible PVC plasticization mechanism synergistic solvent, support, shielding effects discussed summarized. Tributyl has significant potential replace traditional general merchandise, food packaging, medicinal materials, other products, promoting development high-quality industry greener technology safer applications.
