Oxidative degradation by using reactive oxygen species (ROS) is an effective method to treat pollutants. The synthesis of artificial oxidase for the dyes a hot spot in molecular science. In this study, nanoscale sandwich-type polyoxometalate (POM) on basis tetra-nuclear cobalt cluster and trivacant B-α-Keggin-type tungstoarsenate {[Co(C8H20N4)]4}{Co4(H2O)2[HAsW9O34]2}∙4H2O (abbreviated as CAW, C8H20N4 = cyclen) has been synthesized structurally examined infrared (IR) spectrum, ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) X-ray photoelectron spectrum (XPS), single-crystal diffraction (SXRD), bond valence sum (Σs) calculation. According structural analysis, principal element CAW derived from modifying polyanion {Co4(H2O)2 [HAsW9O34]2}8- with four [Co(Cyclen)]2+, which 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane (cyclen) firstly applied modify POM. It also demonstrated that capable efficiently catalyzing production ROS synergistic effects POM fragments Co-cyclen complexes. Moreover, can interfere morphology proliferation sensitive cells producing exhibits ability specifically eliminating methylene blue (MB) solution system both adsorption catalytic oxidation.

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) can be used as an effective method to treat tumors. Artificial oxidase has received increasing attention a catalyst for ROS generation in fields ranging from bioinorganic chemistry pharmaceutical chemistry. In this study, artificial based on binuclear zinc complex and Keggin-type silicotungstate [Zn2(4,4′-bpy)(Phen)2][SiW12O40] (ZSW) (4,4′-bpy = 4,4′-bipyridine; Phen 1,10-phenanthroline) was synthesized structurally featured terms of its X-ray photoelectron spectrum (XPS), bond valence sum (Σs) calculation, IR spectra, single-crystal diffraction (SXRD). ZSW is ionic compound which the cation [Zn2(4,4′-bpy)(Phen)2]4+ anion α-Keggin-type [SiW12O40]4– cluster. Notably, Zn ions [Zn2(4,4′-bpy)(Phen)2] exist tri-coordination, first obtained polyoxometalate (POM) It also demonstrated that capable efficiently catalyzing production ROS, which, according computational calculations, may due synergistic action complexes POM building blocks. Furthermore, exhibited inhibition ability toward ROS-sensitive tumor cells, such PC12 cells.

An organic-inorganic hybrid polyoxometalate (POM) based on bi-nuclear copper complexes and Dawson-type phosphotungstate (POT) [CuL(H2O)][CuL]2[P2W18O62]·3H2O (abbreviated as CPW) (L = 2-(1H-pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine) was synthesized structurally characterized by IR spectrum, single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Structural analysis indicated that CPW is nanoscale molecule extends into a two-dimensional layer, in which three are substituted at different sites of POT joined adjacent fragments together. Notably, can efficiently catalyze the production reactive oxygen species.
