Resilience and social support as predictors of life satisfaction in preadolescents: a gender analysis

Abstract
Resilience
and
social
support
are
variables
related
to
life
satisfaction.
Nonetheless,
these
relationships
could
be
different
for
boys
girls.
This
study
aimed
analyze
the
links
among
satisfaction,
resilience
(novelty
seeking,
emotional
regulation
future
positive
orientation)
in
early
adolescents
by
exploring
possible
gender
differences.
In
this
study,
552
aged
10–13
years
(52%
girls)
participated.
The
results
showed
stronger
correlations
between
satisfaction
novelty
seeking
boys,
only

significant
predictor
of
both
genders,
but
some
dimensions

study
aimed

explore

existing
relationships
between
emotion
regulation,
relationship
satisfaction,
and
age.The
research
involved
775
participants:
222
were
male
(28.6%),
553
female
(71.4%).Their
ages
ranged
from
18
75
years
(M
=
26.57;SD
9.55).Respondents
completed
questionnaires
related
difficulties
in
various
socio-demographic
data.The
results
of
this
show
that
regulation
are
negatively
associated
with
age
satisfaction.Furthermore,

Abstract
Objective
At
present,

Regulation
Scale-8
(DERS-8)
has
not
been
tested
China,
which
limits
cross-cultural
research.

Abstract
The

Abstract
Interpersonal
conflicts
are
common
in
romantic
relationships.

youth's

(CER)
