In drug discovery, selecting targeted molecules is crucial as the target could directly affect efficacy and treatment outcomes. As a member of CCN family, CTGF (also known CCN2) an essential regulator in progression various diseases, including fibrosis, cancer, neurological disorders, eye diseases. Understanding regulatory mechanisms different diseases may contribute to discovery novel candidates. Summarizing CTGF-targeting -inhibitory drugs also beneficial for analysis efficacy, applications, limitations these disease models. Therefore, we reviewed structure, development order provide more references future discovery.

Since viral infectious diseases continue to be a global health threat, new antiviral drugs are urgently needed. A unique class of therapeutic compounds antimicrobial peptides (AMPs). They can found in humans, bacteria and plants. Plants express wide variety such defense as part their innate immune system protect from invading pathogens. Cyclotides non-classical AMPs that share similar structure. Their topology consists circular peptide backbone disulfide bonds. In previous studies they have been attributed range biological activities. To identify novel cyclotides with activity, we established library plant extracts largely consisting cyclotide-rich species screened them inhibitors HIV-1 infection. Subsequent extraction fractionation revealed four cyclotide-containing subfractions Viola tricolor activity. These inhibited infection IC50 values between 0.6 11.2 μg/ml, selectivity indices up 8.1. The identification characterization the determination mechanisms may allow develop agents combat infections. Therefore, represent natural source bioactive molecules prospects for development therapeutics.

The development of efficient, eco-friendly antimicrobial agents for air purification and disinfection addresses public health issues connected to preventing airborne pathogens. Herein, the activity a nanoemulsion (control, 5%, 10%, 15%) containing neem lavender oils with polycaprolactone (PCL) was investigated against bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus. Various parameters such as physicochemical properties nanoemulsion, pH, droplet size, polydispersity index (PDI), minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), bacterial (MBC), color measurement emulsion have been evaluated optimized. Our results showed that PCL combined oil found be highest MIC MBC all tested bacteria. sizes are 21.86–115.15 nm, 23.92–119.15 their combination is 25.97–50.22 nm. range pH viscosity nanoemulsions various concentrations 5.8 6.6 0.372 2.101 cP. This study highlights potential nanotechnology in harnessing natural essential oils, paving way innovative sustainable solutions fight contamination.
