Abstract
Rising
rates
of
suicide
fatality,
attempts,
and
ideations
among
adolescents
aged
10–19
over
the
past
two
decades
represent
a
national
public
health
priority.
Theories
that
seek
to
understand
suicidal
ideation
overwhelmingly
focus
on
transition
from
attempt
sole
cognition:
active
–
serious
consideration
killing
one’s
self,
with
less
attention
non-suicidal
cognitions
emerge
during
adolescence
may
have
implications
for
behavior.
A
large
body
research
exists
characterizes
not
only
as
period
heightened
onset
prevalence

no
longer
