The study aimed to estimate the prevalence of depression and explore association specific chronic conditions as well multi-morbidity with among older population. The utilized data from Longitudinal Ageing Study in India Wave 1 (2017-2018). total sample size for present was 31,464 adults aged 60 above, including 14,931 males 16,533 females. Descriptive statistics along bivariate multivariate analyses were performed fulfil objectives. The overall elderly population 8.7%. Older women had shown a greater rate than men. Among conditions, hypertension, stroke, bone-related diseases found be significantly associated case both men women. three or more higher (14.5%) females (11.2%). between number exhibited linear trend an increased odds ratio indicating risk multiple conditions.Older individuals illnesses have is proportional conditions. This signifies need identification depressive symptoms at early stage by focussing on suffering educating family members community about effective treatments counselling.

Abstract Background Adverse childhood experiences are critical factors in depression and cognitive decrease, but the effect of adverse health (ACHEs) on function role have not been fully studied. Methods Data were taken from China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) 2014 2018. This study used indicators situational memory ability mental status to measure capacity. Besides analyzing different types ACHEs, scores for ACHEs calculated represent severity ACHEs. The Center Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) was assess depression. analysis this employed two analytical strategies order examine mediated effects We Sobel’s test Baron Kenny’s causal step approach, which utilized a generalized least squares regression model. Furthermore, logistic model evaluate robustness Karlson-Holm-Breen (KHB) approach. Results In study, 6301 individuals who met requirements included. found that being confined bed (ACHE3) (β=-0.3846, p = 0.022) had negative impact function. Similarly, (β=-0.0819, 0.090). And after introduced into model, coefficient no longer significant (β=-0.0170, 0.727). Sobel showed ACHE3, proportion total 36.92%. While 70.11%. Finally, mediating using KHB method revealed still existed. Further, based gender, age, educational levels, heterogeneity indicated relationship between as well passing interaction. Background Chronic disease incidence among the elderly is increasing, which correlated with acceleration of population aging. Evolving internet technologies may help prevent and provide interventions for chronic diseases in an accelerating aging process. However, impact daily use on not well understood. Objective This study aims to investigate whether by middle-aged older adults inhibit or promote occurrence diseases. Methods We included participants from China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), a longitudinal survey Chinese residents aged ≥45 years. assessed 8-year data wave 1 (June 2011-March 2012) 4 (July-September 2018) CHARLS. Data were used cross-sectional study, all waves study. Self-reported track variables, including use, frequency, different Cox proportional hazards modeling was applied examine relationship between adults, while adjusting sociodemographic characteristics health behaviors. In addition, analyze usage trends, factors influencing use. Results Among 20,113 analyses, increased significantly, 2% 12.3%, 2011 2018. The adjusted model found statistically significant relationships lower following diseases: hypertension (hazard ratio [HR] 0.78, 95% CI 0.65-0.95, P=.01), lung (HR 0.74, 0.57-0.97, P=.03), stroke 0.69, 0.50-0.94, P=.02), digestive 0.73, 0.58-0.91, P=.005), memory-related disorders 0.58, 0.37-0.91, arthritis rheumatism 0.60, 0.48-0.76, P<.001), asthma 0.52, 0.33-0.84, P=.007), depression 0.80, 0.71-0.89, vision impairment 0.83, 0.74-0.93, P=.004). Moreover, our also showed that increasing frequency risk some decreases. Conclusions who have reduced developing versus those do internet. prevalence stimulate contemplation potential role platforms future research prevention.

Chronic heart failure (CHF) combined with depression represents a significant clinical challenge due to the mutual exacerbation of physical and psychological symptoms. This study investigated therapeutic effects Zhigancao decoction, traditional Chinese medicine, in combination conventional Western treatments patients CHF depression. A total 122 were enrolled divided into two groups: control group receiving standard treatment, an observation decoction addition therapy. Outcomes assessed by evaluating efficacy, cardiac function, inflammatory markers, depressive symptoms, quality life. The exhibited significantly higher efficacy rates, improved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), reduced levels markers [N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP)], lower scores on scales, compared group. Furthermore, life These findings underscore potential as effective adjunct for managing depression, offering holistic approach that integrates mental health improvements.

Depression amongst the elderly population is a worldwide public health problem, especially in China. Affected by urban–rural dual structure, depressive symptoms of urban and rural areas are significantly different. In order to compare its influencing factors among areas, we used data from fourth wave China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). A total 7690 participants at age 60 or older were included this study. The results showed that there was significant difference prevalence estimate depression between (χ2 = 10.9.76, p < 0.001). higher than (OR-unadjusted 1.88, 95% CI: 1.67 2.12). After adjusting for gender, age, marital status, education level, minorities, religious belief, self-reported health, duration sleep, life satisfaction, chronic disease, social activities having income not, 1.52 times (OR 1.52, 1.32 1.76) elderly. Gender, diseases associated with both areas. addition, connected while status not interaction analysis sources statistically (divorced: coefficient 1.567, 0.05; activities: 0.340, 0.05), have no (p > 0.05). Thus, it necessary propose targeted precise intervention strategies prevent after accurately identifying factors’ effects.
