Methyl, ethyl and butyl β-D-glucosaminide 6-O-fatty acid esters were prepared by the novel direct transglycosylation reaction of chitosan with methanol, ethanol butanol using resting cells chitosan-assimilating strain, Penicillium sp. KS018 as enzyme source exo-β-D-GlcNase followed transesterification fatty methyl ester lipase. Transesterification lipase depended on origin, conditions, such temperature pressure. monoesters demonstrated excellent surface activity in aqueous solution. The antimicrobial properties 6-O-dodecanoyl-glucosaminides stronger compared to dodecyl β-D-glucoside. methyl, glucosaminide all readily biodegradable activated sludge.

Abstract Ultimate aerobic biodegradabilities of an array sugar ester surfactants were determined by International Standards Organisation method 7827, “Water Quality—Evaluation in Aqueous Medium the Aerobic Biodegradability Organic Compounds, Method Dissolved Carbon” (1984). The nonionic esters with different‐sized head groups (formed from glucose, sucrose, or raffinose) and different lengths numbers alkyl chains [formed lauric (C 12 ) palmitic 16 acid]. Analogous anionic surfactants, formed attaching α‐sulfonyl group adjacent to bond, α‐alkyl substituents also studied. It was found that variations size chain length number do not significantly affect biodegradability. In contrast, biodegradation rate groups, although sufficient for them be classified as readily biodegradable, dramatically reduced compared unsubstituted esters. An understanding relationship between structure biodegradability provided results this study will aid targeted design biodegradable use consumer products.

Abstract Pure cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) rapidly degrade in soil, limiting their prospective applications agriculture. We incorporated lignin into CNFs as an antimicrobial and crosslinking agent to control the biodegradation rate. with different concentrations were prepared by mechanochemical treatment presence of choline chloride-urea deep eutectic solvent. These characterized using conductometric titration, scanning electron microscopy, FT-IR. The fibers applied soil determine effect on respiration nanocellulose degradation, used a substrate for radish cress seed germination. Modifying content successfully modulated rate soil. Fibers containing 35% degraded 5.7% 14 days, while 20% 20.8% days. Nanofiber suspensions showed low chemical inhibition germination seeds but higher contents reduced imbibition coating. This work describes the immobilization of porcine pancreatic lipase (PPL), obtained from crude extract, on silica coated with octyl groups (OS) by interfacial adsorption, a simple and low-cost protocol. Different structural composition ratios of sucrose stearates with hydrophilic–hydrophobic balance (HLB) values ranging from 1 to 16 on lipolysis in emulsion were investigated using a simulated gastrointestinal tract (GIT). Results showed direct correlation between the HLB and rate emulsions, lower value led diminished GIT simulation model. Mechanism study indicated that poor emulsifying capacity inhibited digestive behavior oil. In addition, monoester was mainly hydrolyzed gastric phase, whereas polyesters caused intestinal phase an vitro model HPLC analysis, further suppressing lipid digestion. Abstract A new group of nonionics, so‐called sugar surfactants having a gemini structure, N,N′ ‐bisalkyl‐ ‐bis[(3‐gluconylamido)propyl]ethylenediamines [bis(C n GA): C = ‐C 8 H 17 , 12 25 ], ‐bisdodecyl‐ ‐bis[(3‐glucoheptonylamido)propyl]ethylenediamine GH)], and ‐bis[(3‐lactobionylamido)propyl]ethylenediamines LA): were prepared in convenient four‐step procedure from easily accessible reagents. Their structure purity confirmed by means elemental analysis, electrospray ionization MS (ESI‐MS), NMR spectra— 1 H, 13 C, H− COSY, distortionless enhancement polarization transfer. All tested practically nontoxic to gram‐negative bacteria fungi, but they inhibited the growth some gram‐positive bacteria. From results Closed Bottle test (OECD Guideline 301D) for biodegradability measurements, it was concluded that aldonamide structures are biodegraded environmental microorganisms 16–55% initial levels day 28, extent depending on both type alkyl chain length. Consequently, ‐bis[(3‐aldonylamido)propyl]ethylenediamines surfactant class low ecotoxicity fulfilling requirements desired an ecological standpoint.
